I have a little confusion, what does the download speed Kb/s in Klite Traffic view indicate, is it in Kilobits or Kilobytes?

I have an ADSL 256k service and the fastest I ever get in Klite is 25Kb/s, but usually around 6-8 Kb/s for most files. Is this correct?

It is kilobytes, and there's a reason why it is not up to the 256 but I don't know the answer - sorry. Someone else will know though.

Probably the file you're d/loading is rare. You need more sources.

you have 256 kilobits/sec adsl, therefore the maximum download speed you should see in kazaa is (256/8)= 32 kilobytes/sec :)

Thank you people for the clarifications, now I know that 32Kb/s is the fastest I can get in Kazaa. But the best I ever had is 25Kb/s, is there anything I can do or try to make my download achieve 32Kb/s?

You will never get 100% of speed for downloads.

That's right having cable one time and one time only I got 236kb/s I'm usually doing good getting 20-25kb/s :(

It says my Upstream/Downstream rates in KBPS are 288/576.

So what speed can I expect?

about 58-59 kilobytes/sec down and about 30 kilobytes/sec up :)

edit: these are maxima though, usually nearer 50 down and 25 up

Thanks bud, my Normal Max Speed is about 60kb/s (so thats about right) and I have 2 Upload Slots Available, when both of them are taken they Never go Higher than 8.00kb/s each (so im guessing I can Increase my Upload Speen in K-lite then? so that people get the full 30kb/s that they should be getting?)

well, if you offer your full upload speed then you will 'choke' your download bandwidth and any downloads will suffer
offering approx 80-85% of your available upload is probably the best solution :)

Well lets see here...

My software is telling me that my Max Upstream Rate in KBPS is 288 and I had it set in K-Lite to use 128, I have now changed it to use 256.

Will that choke me or should it be ok?

P.S. Thanks 4 all the help bud.

that might choke things, but the only way to find out is to experiment... :)

Ok so if I Notice a Drop in my Normal Max Download Speed I will set it to 128 again. Thanks! :D
