Does anyone know a way to play a Vcd in a u.s(american) ps2 dvd player
WITHOUT A MOD CHIP
itll be much appericated

not likely but possible on some of the older models of ps2 they play vcds copyd dvds not games though

ps2 sucks for just about anythings but games. the one i have won't even play some of the regular dvd's i have.

it's not the lens. just certian dvd's don't play right. ie bicentennial man, there is a noticiable lag in the sound. sony wanted me to send it back and they would fix the problem, but i never bothered. i just don't use it for dvds anymore.

some versions only play 1 3 or all reigon dvds an alternitive would be to get a gameshark btw ps2 colect a lot of dust

Go to www.dvdrhelp.com and look at the DVD Player section and search for Playstation 2 and it will show you what it can play, vcd will not play though.

Awhile back sony said they are releasing a better PS2 that runs cleaner, has a IR reciver(so you can turn it off by remote), and plays vcd's, but i dont think its is out yet.

a new version was just released resently its sapposed to have a progessive scan or somthing
