i did the "ipconfig" to get my gate way number and i put this in ip and it does nothing , in ipconfig it says i have an ethernet adapter, can i forward the ports on this, if how? i have norton internet security 2004 does this affect the speed in any way, i have a blue yonder 1mb connection and the most i can download off bittorrent is 20kb or so, but does go up to 40 for a short while, any help would be very good.

omfg.........................................*biggest sigh ever*

dont worry bout it honda, you dont have one nor do you need one, but to explain...

Routers are used to splitt internet connections. So lets say you have 2 computers and you want to make both have the internet. You buy a router to "splitt" the connection. It works like this...

ok cheers for all that, so this is not something you can do in 10 mins, so if i always leave on my up loaded files for others to download on, after a while i will see my speeds go up. cool
