Pc Turning On At Random

My friends PC will turn on without anyone touching it...could it be a faulty switch or could some other appliance or maybe radio device make this happen?????????

It could be a faulty switch or if you are on a network could be the wake via lan.

have you checked the power cables are inserted correctly (inside as well as out)?

p.s. unplug it from the mains first, of course :)

actually, it could be a bios-based alarm (like an alarm clock)

my pc turns on at 4:30 in the morning everyday and automatically logs in, and its the loud login noise that wakes me up

another thing, some PCs turn on after the slightest power failure, even if it was originally off, so if ur sure that there are no power pailures in ur room, check your PSU
