I once whent on a house boat trip with my sisters and it was so fun.

When we returned the boat, the roof was broken a little because we forgot not to go under a bridge when the line on the pillars arent visible.

It was funny because it smashed the TV aerial

Their was this place we stopped for the night and the fish were glowing :)

It sure does. They were twin 225's sorry, not 245's. They are V6 two strokes. One screw goes the opposite way, check the wash.

OK, a little of topic here but now that you mentioned 2 stroke V6, how does a two stroke work ??

I found an animation on one working and i dont get how its 2 strokes ?

I always come up with 4

Do the 2 stroke engines sound different to a 4 stroke ??

http://science.howstuffworks.com/two-stroke2.htm

Very different

TheDave
12-12-2003, 03:29 PM
i think it goes whack boom instead of whack whack whack boom

two-stroke is a higher pitch i think

Spider_dude
12-12-2003, 04:06 PM
is 2 stroke not to do with the type of oil/petrol mix you put in the engine?

TheDave
12-12-2003, 04:09 PM
i can remember which. but one has both oil and petrol, one has just petrol i think

@BD: Nice fish, but how does Shark taste? is it like tuna?

Virtualbody1234
12-12-2003, 05:28 PM
It's the 2 stroke that you mix in oil with the fuel.

One screw goes the opposite way, check the wash.

Wow! That's a nice effect. :) B)

AussieSheila

 No, shark doesn't taste much like tuna, but it tastes pretty good. In Victoria at least, shark (called flake) is the most popular piece of fish in the fish and chip shop. And one of the few seafoods I will eat. :D

Good for your daughter, Billy-no nerves, there.

Funny you should bring up sharks and all.

Coincidences abound.

I'll try to PM you later when I have a bit of time.

Billy_Dean
12-13-2003, 04:45 AM
In England they call shark Rock Salmon, it's a shark that's called Dogfish, I think. I't was the only fish I ate there, no bones.

As to the two stroke, if you look at that animation, you'll see the spark plug ignites on every second stroke. It drags petrol and air in from a hole in the side of the barrel, which closes on the up stroke. The oil in the petrol lubricates it all.

Got your PM j2, thanx. I'll look up that record, seems a big catch on a rod and reel, eh?

Yup, thats right, just cartalage, not bones, very expensive but the fishermen here catch tons of them and use them for lobster bait

Easy to skin :)

What 2 stroke mix are they Rikk? 40-1? would think quite a rich mix for the engine size, very suprised and engine that size is'nt a OHC 4-stroke really, but I guess 2-strokes are a piece of piss to work on, take it to bits and bung it back together in a few hours :)

And I take it your boat is a cat right?.......very smooth on the water til it gets rough

i'm wondering about the 2 stroke aswell...wouldn't 4 stroke be a better choice for fuel economy, performance, noise and reliability?

or was the boat pretty old?
