Hello

I have a three button mouse ( left, right click and wheel ) from Belkin which can be connected to either a USB or PS/2 port.

I can use it on PS/2 port without any difficulty and though it is a Belkin mouse I can use Microsoft Intellimouse software. But when I can connect the same mouse to USB port I am having difficulty using the Microsoft software. I have to use Belkin's very own basic software with minimal features. I also get a yellow exclamation mark in the Device Manager under Mouse and next to PS/2 Compatible Mouse Port.

When I remove the PS/2 Compatible Mouse Port in Device Manager I get it back on reboot. The software gets reinstalled on reboot and there is also a yellow exclamation mark. I somehow cannnot remove PS/2 port so how do I remove it completely ? Also how can I make USB connection accept the Microsoft's Intellimouse software and not use Belkin's basic and minimum-feature related application. Any comments. Thank you.

i don't think you can use intelpoint software on belkin mouse.
windows sees a belkin mouse on usb it wants a belkin driver for it.
i'd just leave it on ps2 port with intel. soft.the ecla. in devices is a warning that sees belkin mouse trying to use inteli. driver.if it works use it if not then get a intelipoint mouse or use belkin driver.with plug and
play devices they all tell the os what they are to make it easer to install.
