Hey! I'm building a new computer (2500XP, Asus, Kingston Xtreme etc etc) and I was wanting to know what is some good software to test this old crappy system I have (specs in sig). I want to test it to see what the diff is from this crap computer to my new awesome one! Like maybe some of the test Tomshardware runs that shows MP3 encoding times and stuff. I would like it to be organized and test alot of stuff and then compare! Thanks for any help!

Ok thanks for that link! I have a crappy graphics card as we can all see in my Sig...I dont want to test gaming or anything. I want to test stuff like how long it takes to encode MP3s, how long it takes to open progs, or run something...is there a good thing for that thats not related to graphics so much?

To clarify and echo what ck-uk said, Google for FOSI and look for SiSoft Sandra once you get on the site.

SiSoft Sandra is a very comprehensive PC benchmarking/diagnostic suite.

It'll measure the bejebus out of every part of your system. and give you results that can be compared to both lesser and better PCs right there in the program.

And it'll output the results in easy to read bar graphs.

...Its the shiznit imho. :)

not exactly an accurate method, but you could try encoding a movie with tmpeg with each, then compare the times - should give a nice comparison, though wont give bar charts and crap...unless you do loads of movies i guess :D
