This is no thread about Saddam, it's about his moustache. I'm changing the title so it doesn't get confused with all the others, which are having to be closed. :)

Here's something weird, since we've gone serious anyhow:

"Beast" and "monster" were typical epithets applied to the Iraqi president. The New Republic, which had urged additional U.S. aid to Saddam in 1987 during the peak of the Iran-Iraq war, went so far as to doctor a cover photo of Saddam to make his moustache resemble Hitler's.
