i was wondering if a 5600XT would be enough for most/all games out there today. or should i go w/ a regular 5600. i want to play games like unreal, ut2k3, planetside, bf1942, american army, you get the idea. so would it be good enough?

i can get it for about $78, or a reg 5600 for about $100 at newegg....or should i go w/ the 9600 non-pro.

depends on the rest of the system spec and exactly how well you'd like to be able to run the games (e.g. what resolution, details etc) :)

1.8ghz p4
384mb 266mhz (pc2100) ram
40gb WD

and i like to run/most games on med-high setting on my max res.....1024x768(lcd monitor so...) ;)

is that card enough? for 78 dollars i cant help but feeling tempted to buy it now

you should be able to play most current games well with the 5600, but you should look into getting the 9600 as an alternative :)

no such thing as a 5600xt

unless ur referring to the 5600ultra or the 5700 ultra

i would choose the 5700 ultra (if u have a microcenter in ur area, u mite be able to find a 9800pro for 300 bucks!!! oh yea, ur not an fps phreak)

heres an 5600xt (http://www.gameve.com/gve/store/productdetails.aspx?sku=VC-CHAIN-023) ;)

5600xt is just a slower clockec 5600

I dont really like how they say XT and make it something bad..it makes people not very familiar think its like a 9600XT and its actually better prob. I bet you can easily overclock it to a regular 5600. It looks like a decent card.

okay, new question....

radeon 9600 or a regulare 5600

or

9600se or 5600xt ....they both have 64bit memory bus :(

y would they have 64bit memory bus when their clock and memory is decent

get the 9600 se and you get HL2 free.

You got just about the same specs. I have but with a gf2 440 mx card and I can play UT2003. In most rooms I can get arround 25 to 30 fps. But with a lot of ppl in the room it gets so bad sometimes I have to shut down...I would tey to get a 9600 or better after christmas.. B)

no, they 9600xt comes w/ hl2 but the 9600se being the budget card that they are, does not.
