i noe lots of ppl here usually lve there computers running all the time including me :ph34r: so i dont want the electric bill to go sky rocketing so anyway to reduce power usage?

tips?

turn off the monitor when you're not using it (that's about the only one i can suggest, my computer is always doing 'something' when it's on)

lol unless the price for KW/h is really expensive where u live...u shouldnt see much of a big difference between the current bill and ur "next" bill

i started leavin on my computer 1 month ago....bill went up of course....but not what i thought...went up like 7 dollars or something....and where i live electricty bill is REAAAAAAAAAAALLY big...so im happy :)

yea i always do tht even wen im jus gone for 2 mins its a habit for me lol and i usually lve my computer on wen im downloadin or uploadin stuff or jus wana lve the damn pc on lol

btw i liv in toronto :D B)

ok I bought a 500watt PSU..will that thing ALWAYS use that much..or is that just its maximum?

thats the maximum the psu will provide, it wont always use that,

Move to Quebec. :lol:

You can look into the power management setting to turn off things automatically when you're not using them.

I still think it's pretty pointless to try. The difference will be so little (even for TO.) that it's not worth the inconvenience.

go to the power option in your pc and set it to turn off the monitor after 20mins of non use

Buy a laptop. :D :P it will use alot less power.

max power my laptop will use is 90w. which is alot less than a total computer, maybe at least a thrid.
