i just did a trojan scan at trojanscan(dot)com and as it was scanning i get this msg : Unable to scan I:\System Volume Information - not allowed to scan .It said this with all my partitions - what exactly does it mean ? has it not been able to scan some part or is something stopping it ie trojan ? i did get the msg that i was not infected though.

Registry Medic is the solution for me.

thnkx ive got a scanner already :) but would it be possible for a trojan to hide there and not get detected ? is there anyway to change that so that part gets scanned as well ?

is that not the trash bin for every partition. I dont think trojans can hide there and still be executed.

This part hides other components of windows as well like the system restore logs.

If you are infected by a virus and have removed it make sure you delete the system restore settings by shutting down restore and then restarting, so you cant restore the virus. If you dont get rid of the resore points you will get virus warnings occasionally because your antivirus software cannot access to delete the virus on this part of windows.
