I Just Dicovered Firebird

I never tried Opera.

I went straight from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firebird and,
definetly pleased with results. :)

no. the best is myie2. got all the features of opera and firebird, but it runs on the ie core, so all sites will work on it

I Just downloaded MyIE2 latest version and after about 1 1/2 hr of use I concur that MyIE2 is the most stable version and a useful one out there. Using IE engine it will work exactly like that. Moreover MyIE2 uses half of it. Also its much faster. Anyone looking for a tryout should definetly give this a try. Even u sh ;)


Edit:Sh, try out myIE2 with some plugins. It is just awesome&#33; syntax highliting, javascript encode decoder, css lookup on a page, javascripts lookup on a page...all that you could ever expect from a browser.

.. and that is why I use NetCaptor -- works like a charm -- everything that u need in IE

I also tryed MY IE2 but yes have a lot of addons but not the firebird speed.

Firebird doesn&#39;t allow pop ups or swf without your express permission.
Not a filter, it just doesn&#39;t allow them, so you won&#39;t get the errors on popup close that you&#39;d see in IE or anything related to it.

And with all the extensions installed, there&#39;s not much left to wish for.

I dont know how you guys compared, I am finding MyIE2 with excellent speed. Much better than IE ofcourse and I dont find it slower than Firebird. I have used Firebird for about a month now and just tried myIE2. Also, it hardly takes any memory as compared to IE and firebird. You gotta love that&#33;
Its a programmers dream come true on a windows platform :D

I agree that most IE addons (NetCaptor, MyIE, Avant) are the way to go. They all have tons of features, are faster than normal IE, and most sites work on them. Firebird is pretty good, but it&#39;s too bent on standards support which screws up a lot of sites (especially older ones, which are coincidentally the really good ones), plus i don&#39;t have time to screw around with the extensions - i&#39;d rather have a full package in NetCaptor than have to search, download, etc. all sorts of extensions for Firebird, which btw slow it down.

For me Opera is still the fastest although i rarely use it - to me its the Mac of borwsers - tried to be different than everyone else and ended up being crap. It doesn&#39;t support some very basic CSS (but does support some more advanced CSS), which makes it the least overall website-compliant browser from the three.
