I heard about the red hat thing, they are joining forces with some disrto called "fedora"

what distro would you recommend for a 633mhz 384mb ram 30gb harddrive gforce4 mx440 64mb? Red hat 9 runs kinda bad on it, at boot up i have 50% physical ram free...

suse is my fav but they dont give away iso's :(

try using another desktop rather then kde and see what kinda performance you get.

I have tried gnome, it runs worse than kde and kde is better...

I am also tring to get my modem to work in linux

i have a motorola sm56 winmodem and i think i found drivers but dont know how to install them

i gave up on my winmodem since i could never get it to work.

i would read the readme file that comes with the drivers since all of them are different.
