I've seen muchspl2, kAb and others and wondered how did they come up with that. Spill your secrets!!! :D

Mods don't be shy!!!!
Administrators you too!!!

kAb
12-19-2003, 07:14 AM
heh.

well I was riding my bike (bmx) with my friends awhile back, and we were tagging things with a sharpie.

everyone had a tag except me. I decided it would be random and I thought of a taxi.
so i thought cab.

but that wasn't good enough. so i changed the c to a k and capitalized the A. used it with forums and just about everything ever since.

so i got kAb

Been playing online games since I first started on the Internet. Wasn't sure on a good name, and all the ones I thought of were already taken. Not only that, but most people have trouble spelling it hehe so there ya go

Around the time I registered here, I was playing Deus Ex (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00008RMB1/ref=sr_aps_videogames_1_2/026-4207446-0732412). I came across the K-Lite forums, and a combination of wanting a seperate name (in order not to link any traces to anywhere else I was before ;)) and getting so involved in the game that I decided to base a new name on DX - As far as I can remember the first time a game has influenced me that way.

My original choice was Daedalus - However, registering a new Yahoo mail account was a little bit tricky has practically every combination of Daedalus was registered already (bloody DX fanboys <_<...;)) I did however manage to get an address that had no numbers in it with Illuminati - That's how I got the name.

I think only those who've played DX will understand what I just said :D As for the rest, I'd say play it when you can because the storyline is not one you want spoilt. ;) You could download it, but the gameplay and the story in particular make it worth the best fiver you could ever pay for a game (It's in a budget range now in the UK ;))

I don't remember the exact episode. Elaine says to someone, in a bad Australian accent, "Maybe the dingo ate you baby". Hence the name.

Allow me to embellish this reply please:

A Cry in the Dark (1988) - ***
A movie based on an incredible true story. I didn't know the details of these events going in, so the movie was a surprise to me. Meryl Streep and Sam Neill play the parents who have their baby taken from their tent by a dingo while on holiday at Ayer's Rock. While it's being investigated some of the facts come into question. Eventually, among a nation of rumors, they find themselves on trial for the murder of their baby daughter. It's a heart-wrenching tale of faiths being questioned while waiting for all the facts come out. It is extremely well acted and directed, using some great Australian locales including the opening scene at Ayer's Rock. While the movie maybe not be great, it was a great way to learn about this story. Prior to watching it, I was pretty much just aware of the quote made famous by Elaine on Seinfeld, "Maybe the dingo ate your baby" (http://www.andrewnixon.com/movies/dingo.wav)

I came to KLite forum to sorta promote my music.
I thought this name is so lame that ppl would remember it.
I dunno if this working tho.
But, there is no Negative PR.
Any PR is Good. :)

peps call just Slinger in these days, which is just fine.
Guitar Slinger is a name of a Brian Setzer album,
Setzer was the d00d hwo inspired me to start playing the damn thing
about a 1980.
Oh yeah, and i got me Gretsch 6120SSL too,
the Mother of The guitars in my opinion, it just
Very Secksy.

Cheers:

btw, my music has been spreading faster on the SS than in Klite,
and its about time to make more songs.

Infested Cats
12-20-2003, 07:24 AM
I never had a good explanation for the origin on my name… but recently, I’ve found a way to relate my name to personal events:

So, I was sitting at my computer, and my pet cat walks into the room (because this room houses her dish and litter box), except she’s meowing like crazy… more insanely than usual. I normally would brush off the cat remembering how insane it usually it is, but upon closer inspection, it had a large boil that must of popped, leaving the side of her face raw and bleeding. I was grossed out, to say the least.

Word of the Day for Thursday December 9, 1999.

sang-froid \sang-FRWAH\, noun:

Freedom from agitation or excitement of mind; coolness in trying circumstances; indifference; calmness.

Let what will be said or done, preserve your sang-froid immovably.
--Thomas Jefferson

Both men were mightily impressed by the calmness of the Americans on board, particularly among the women. ''I had, during my sojourn in America,'' [Gustave de] Beaumont said later, ''a thousand occasions to see the sang-froid of the American.''
--Michael Kammen, "Wrecked on the Fourth of July," New York Times, July 6, 1997

The Treasury Secretary's sang-froid in moments of crisis.

Hey Peeps,

Mine came from that late sixties, early seventies album and cartoonish video, "Free To Be You and Me" and added to the obvious p2p phenomena.

http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/11.02/kazaa.html

"Free To Be" had an enormous influence on me as a tot barely understanding the concepts with tons of "socialist, pinko, commie" messages about being allright just as a human being and not a "patriot", or "saved", or even "100% all the time- a straight thinking and acting man" (slap "Kinsey" in a Google window.)
It happens to be right along the convo I had tonite with my old childhood freind who I see once every 2 or three years now.
We were talking about how most teenagers (and even more so with "minorities") behave (The thought occured along time ago. It's now a feeling.) like they wont live past 25. The enormous fear we have about each other in this country (and appaling murder rate) compared to some towns in Canada for instance. The (Bad) News Media keeps us fearful and "protected" by soothing messages of rhetoric from our politicians and president. And Yes, "Bowling for Columbine" was brought up. Hey I sound like a Green Party candidate already!
The show and soundtrack were a wonderful door into "thinking for yourself" and the action that must ensue.
Recommended songs. "This land is your land" (by Woodie Guthrie) and "Be Who You Want To Be" (by Ewan McColl?) :)

Well in about 1999 when I started playing games on teh net alot, I bought a legit copy of Return to Casgtle Wolfenstein.
I played it alot and became very good at it, and my name was Iceman, as I had used ti for loadsa nicks before.
However, this really good clan called TNT recruited me into their clan, so my name was then: TNTIcemanTNT
It was such a good clan and so much fun until it broke up and ive kept the name for everything else computer wise.
