I'm doing some compilation CD's for relatives.

If I copy the songs as MP3 to CD, will they play on all music systems? (they might have pretty old stereos)

or should I convert them to .wav or something.

I've got Nero, is that the ebst thing to use?

Any other tips?

Thanks.

When using nero it fails to copy, and says:

"- GENERIC CRD-BP1700P
- Power Calibration Error
- Simulation failed at 2x (300KB/s)"

I've converted the MP3's into .WAV's.

Can someone please help!! I need to get this done for a christmas present.

Thanks.

Have you got the latest drivers for your burner? Do you have the latest Nero Burning Rom (currently 6.3.0.0)?

You need to make sure these are done before we can help you. I mean, these both will fix many problems such as under/over-buffering.

Get back to us on this.

I've got version 5.5.8.1 OEM.

As for drivers, I don't know where to get them from. My burner is "GENERIC CRD-BP1700P", it says "BPRec" on the front.

I think you'll find your burned is shagged mate, I used to get the same error message on an old Phillips unit, I eventually filed it under B1N!

Yea when I read that I nearly wet myself...

I'd try a new version of Nero though, remembering to uninstall the previous version, and removing the directories from you hard drive. Sometimes they leave old .dlls in there. Again, if this doesn't work, flash your firmware.

If this doesn't work, time to start getting your readies out.

If you live in the UK, I've posted on here some good makes and models from Aria (http://www.aria.co.uk/) that are worth a look. Especially the LiteOn range :D

LoL if you got an album with say more than 15 tracks they aint going to fit onto a cd by converting them to wav 1st.

Nero will burn them to wav from mp3 in a oner, and nero express burns them as .cda, for to get your music from the freedb.freedb.org.
