Winamp is a small program which is used essentially for playing music. In the latest versions you can play movies. Think of it as a compact Win Media Player and you get the picture.

Winamp is better because:

better features/ options.
Only includes stuff you need no bullshit like whats included with WMP

Me either.
I mean do get me wrong it's feature filled player but guess what?

I play music on my stereo or pound it my car. I don't sit in front of a computer to listen music so I couldn't give 2 shits about Winamp.
Burn the shit on CD!!!!

.......I'm kidding I use it as a music box for my stereo downstairs :lol:

Other than that though I don't see what the uproar is. <_<

you just need a better stereo
get a receiver that has usb audio then it just plugs into your computer, sounds way better than headphone converter
then your half way there, just need a power amp like this one to really piss of the neighborers :w00t:

I've seen pics from Winamp's forums where some guy has a touch screen in his car and he's loaded Winamp on it. It looks amazing, you really have to see it to believe it!

its very powerful, requires 220 and pushes 2,000W 2 ohms & bridged it has a rating of 2800W :o

and I thought about putting a laptop or small pc in my next car, what kind of remote did he use?
I believe there is a blapunk(sp) that has vga input, but I haven't herd anything in some time about it, I remember reading about it along time ago

I'm not sure what remote he used, but I know for certain it was touch screen... looked like an 8 inch screen. You could see very faintly that there were +'s every inch or so, that is probably the touch screen interface. I'll try and look for the pic.

As for the Blaupunkt(sp?) model, I'll try and check on that as well.

Ok, as for the Winamp inside a car, I managed to find the posts relating to this but the pic has since been removed... However the link is here (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=100354&highlight=winamp+car) if you want to check it out.

I also found another site, mp3car.com (http://www.mp3car.com/) which has tons of pics, you just need to search a bit for them.

I've included an example below... although unfortunately it is not using Winamp.
