What's The Difference?

I'm trying to download the movie but what's is the difference between the normal and the extended versions of Lord of the Ring - The Two Towers? And there are 2 or 3 CDs version, which is which?

the extended one is longer :)

The extended version has cut scenes which better insight into some of the characters in the movie.

i got the two towers extended edition 3cd one. :P

the 2 cd one has a missing chunk some where in the middle. <_<

the extended versions are just a bit better. the cut out scenes really add some insight into the storyline.
