If you've been to suprnova.org, you might've gotten an ad about a "new" bittorrent 3.3. The file appears to install spyware, so don't install it.

This is the popup ad:
http://www.unifymedia.com/ads/banner.gif

The link is http://www.unifymedia.com/ads/bittorrent-3.3.exe

This file will according to the license install other software, and not just BT:

Now why does suprnova.org accept ads for spyware-infested bittorrent when anyone can download it for free and no ads? Are they that desperate for cash?

I almost fell for it, but decided to check on this forum first. Good thing I did.

Get TorrentStorm. You can use Shadow's latest Expreimental as the downloader version, but you also have a choice the 5.8.6 or the original 3.3 client to download torrents. It also has a load of extra features like using only one window for all downloads and it will save the torrent information until you ask to remove it, so you don't have to find the torrent hyperlink again if the download is interrupted.

The official BT doesn't contain spyware. It's just some spyware company who put BT3.3 in their installer which will not only install BT but also their spyware. The link to their installer is in my original post if you feel like installing spyware.

what do you mean spin off, every client is a spin off of the original.
shad0ws and clients based on shad0ws core seem to be the fastest, but you can use whatever you like, just if you download the one pertaining to THIS THREAD you will get a bonus of spy ware.
This thread shouldn't be about witch client is better or worst, RN was just trying to help us, a psa if you will.

Sounds to me like there's something messing up your downloads.
I use Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware combined, plus occasionally I search for some online services that check my system for crap, the Ad-Aware/Spybot combo works wonders but on occasion there will be something so crafty that even these two can't fix it, but I've found 2 services that work well, just do a websearch for "online spyware removal", I tend to forget that I can put stuff in my favorites lately (plus it's already a loooooong list lol) so I use the search myself too, if you find something that kinda looks like "WhiskaSwat", it's a good one but you might be wise to have a pop-up blocker.... while they check yer system you get nailed by waves of pop-ups lol...

I used to use theshad0w's client, but I recently switched to Azureus. IT has tons of features and plugin support, only drawback is that its in Java though they seem to have optomized it quite a bit and it runs fine on my computer.

Spyware sucks

I am looking for a client with small footprint. I love Shadow's Experimental but the thing is buggy and eats BIG AMMOUNTS of memory. If you like me has 10 torrents open at the same time you really see what I am talking about. I will ask some questions here, I apreciate your answers about this. TIA:

1. Can you configure the bandwidth settings in torrentstorm like you do in Shadows? I choose the ISDN setting in shadows because if not I get very bad speed, with this setting I get good speed.
2. Can you check if your firewall is conflicting and the status of the torrent in real time? I love the Shadow's light that gives you the status all the time.
3. I was going to install Shareaza that appears to manage also all your downloads in the same screen. Any comments about it?

And finally: I use Supernova, it has nice torrents, but also use _http://www[please no torrent links]bits.org. What are the best sites at the momment that are in the level compiting with what Supernova use to be?

Thank you m8s.
