The bill for additional bandwidth should be arriving anytime now ;)

Gotta love how telus does business, they say you owe it, you owe it!

Yeah, I tried that too. Didn't work.

According to the credit bureau, I now owe them a little over $2000 and it would cost me more than that to fight it.

Just something to keep in mind when your modem is lit up.

well too bad for you. although you could always take them to court....

i've been with telus for years now with no money problems....

at least not up to now anyways ;)

balamm this issue would be simpler if you paid them with ur credit card and if you feel ur being charged for stuff you dont use you can always call ur credit card company and get them to refund you.

work the system ;)

It doesn't work that way. I did speak to the Attorney General and eventually got them to cease and desist, an unofficial "no contact" order, but they pretty much own the credit agencies so.....

The CRTC won't help with something like this and the BBB is only usefull with smaller businesses that have something to lose by bad publicity. Telus wouldn't voluntarily go into mediation so that's where it stands.

You may escape them but be aware that they are a nightmare to deal with when they catch up to you.

Wireless web services, unlimited use, something went wrong with their billing process and I was billed at a per minute rate.
One months use, they claimed over $400 in usage and refused to honour their "unlimited use contract" claiming that it wasn't intended for the amount of use I was getting out of it.
This went on for months even though I had them deactivate the account and all equipment.
They then started to charge me for what I would have used had I still been on contract with them.
When I presented a legal argument, they backed off on some of it but a few months later, they decided they were going to collect on all of it again.
It's been going on for 2 years now and there's no end in sight.

I used to head a group of people with similar problems with telus. They all eventually paid their bills to get telus off their backs, leaving me "holding the bag".

EDIT: oh this is for cell phones huh? i thought ur talking about internet :P that's why i am on pay and talk plan, still sucks but they can't over charge me lol

wow tough spot.....

hmm... interesting case.

well they can't make you pay unless they get a court order to MAKE you pay.

if a judge decides this is unfair you dont have to pay shit. but if the judgement went against you you could have at least get the interest off of ur pay and pay just what you owe them (or what they claim you owe)

;)

i've learned this from my dad

never pay unless a court orders u to ;)

dont worry about it ;)

I hear Bell is ok but i just don't use any of it anymore. I have email on the PC and that's good enough fo me.

No more surprise bills or premium services add on fees.
