ok.... im trying to figure out 2 things....

is there a software (or 2) that can tell you:

1. the bus speed the RAM is going at? for example.... 266, 333, 400....etc...

2. if the vid card is running at 2x, 4x, or 8x agp?

Thanks :)

AIDA32 (http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php) is a powerful system analyzer. It tells you tons of useful information about your hardware. It's free too.

Go get it. I may consider pinning this - but this place has too many bloody pinned threads

I agree.
Take down the "Principles" one...I don't think anyone is reading it anyway.

Hey lamsey I took about an hour to put this together for a local gaming forum in my town. Maybe you could pinn the topic I post....just give it a look as it has some good info

hopefully this will stop alot of the gay topics about "which is better between blank and blank" Also will stop the "Im looking for a good graphics card but dont want to spend alot" questions. I figure you can pinn it for a month or so or untill they run out of 9500Pros...and then get rid of it so its nothing permanent :D

Lets just create a humungous FAQ thread, and Lamsey can have links to different parts of it as icons in his sig.

I would put an overclocking link in my sig so I have to stop answering the repetitive questions like

'OMG I HAVE UH CPU HOW MCUH CAN I OVERRRCLOCKIT?'

Or, perhaps we can all just provide links to the SEARCH FORUM option in this forum.

Those temps appear weird because the board is hotter than the chip....not a typical situation.

DWk
12-24-2003, 04:43 PM

Actually SpeedFan should read your HDD temps.
You can also use HDDTemp
(Here (http://www.siguardian.com/products/hddtemperature/))

You might be grateful that your drives don't support temp monitoring one day.

The reason for temp monitoring is not for the benefit of end users. It's there because there have been a lot of warranty claims which have been caused by overheated drives, but without temp monitoring the manufacturers couldn't prove it. Now they can, and a lot of warranty claims are being rejected.
