OK i got this Soundblaster 16 and i'm gonna give it to me friend. But when i had the card when i was younger i switched a couple of the rubber things jumpers to something else and now i'm not sure if it's gonna work. I don't wanna test it because i'm afraid it will break my computer

Go to their website and look in the manual for your card.
Then set the jumpers back to default.

since when did sound cards have jumpers?

look, if u did screw these "jumpers," chances are that ur PC will still work (hardware isnt known to "break" PCs unless theres a bomb inside)

Indeed.
If it was before a year ago, then truly it was before my time.

Look at Clocker's post.

Read about here to see when Clocker frst took an interest in PCs.

Then look up 'irony'.

Then give me a good skite across the ear for being a sarky bar steward :)

1E8h? 170h? HDMA 5?

Those are the addresses for the onboard ide 1E8h 170h and HDMA 5 is the irq (5)address which is the same for sound blaster (dos sound).
