Before proceding, you must know that changing your login/boot screen may cause your system to crash or even not boot up. It's not likely though if you use the right site for your downloads.

This is for Windows XP ONLY

Step 1) Download LogonUI Boot Randomizer (http://download.softpedia.com:8080/OS%20ENHANCE/logonuibootrandomizer.zip)

LogonUI Boot Randomizer is a logon and boot screens manager for Windows. Works on FAT32 and NTFS file systems.

Step 2) Find a site that has good verified logon/boot screens. (I suggest ThemeXP (http://www.themexp.org))

Step 3) After you have downloaded the logon/boot image you want, if its a boot, put the ZIP file in C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Boot - if its a logon put the ZIP file in C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Logon - (You DON'T upzip the files)

Step 4) Run LogonUI Boot Randomizer and select your boot/logon screen and you're done :D

Problems? Questions? Give me some feedback!

ThemeXP (http://www.themexp.org) is a website to get good, working boot and login screens, StyleXP is a program to change boot and logon screens. I just like LogonUI Boot Randomizer cause it manages your boot and logon screens.

The new stylexp can also change windows icon set too and of course style xp enables you to change your visual styles without a patched uxtheme.

I'm downloading StyleXP now, and I'll post a guide for it as soon as I figure it out. :)

Ok, StyleXP is just about the same as LogonUI Boot Randomizer, just put the ZIP files in your C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Boot or C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Logon and open up StyleXP and go to to Boot or Logons.
