Congratulations and Merry Christmas.
You can save yourself some time and heartache by hooking everything up and benchtesting it outside of the case.
That way you'll know that your setup is working before you go to all the trouble of installing and routing all the wires.

Merry Christmas, Jay.

There are two reasons I haven't responded to your motherboard topic.

Firstly, I can't tell what it is you want to end up with.
Also it becomes tiresome trying to reconcile the desire to have max performance without an adequate budget. Just putting in a new/different board isn't going to make that big a difference- in a few months you'll be back to wanting an upgrade. Why not save your money and make a better and more lasting change when you can afford it rather than compromise so much now?
Secondly, over the past few days there have been a ton of threads started which all ask the same question "Which ( fill in the blank) should I get?"
In certain cases ( like bigdawg) he changes his mind every twenty minutes, so what's the point of making a recommendation?

Sounds like a plan.
Just be prepared to live with whatever choice you make and realize that hardware lust never abates...chances are good that you will never have the system that you want so learn to love the hardware collection that you have.

i already have everything else, i was just listing some new stuff that i got for christmas, i already have everything except for thermal paste and the case, the case hasnt come yet, and my parents never thought to buy me thermal paste, so in the order tommorrow along with the memory im gonna get some artic silver thermal paste. so i cant test anything yet either, no thermal paste. oh well. im hoping to hit 200x11 with the barton processor, but i dont think im going to be able to hit 200 with the memory. im not sure yet, ill have to do some tests once i get it all working.

Mr. Elmo

your parent konw what thermal paste is     about you plannin on ocing, are you sure you want to do that? i mean the 2500 barton should be enough for most stuff, and if you oc, and something is wrong w / your system, you wouldnt be exactly sure if it was the unstability issue w/ the ocing of is it some other defective hardward. i notice there is that princible of overclocking thread pin, have you read that?

pc-gamer-dude

dont worry about me, i know exactly what im doing, and yes my parents (actually my dad) knows exactly what the stuff is, and he knows my plans of overclocking it.

heres a link to the case i got
http://www.buyxtremegear.com/xgearbei.html
he bought me a sperate 420watt psu for it. a turbolink one. once i get the case and paste expect some pics of how its all setup.. peace and merry x-mas!!

I just got a whole new PC...well the parts of course im building it. I got a 9700Pro :D

i got a geforce4 mx440 64mb and im proud of it. the card is awsome, and it runs bf1942 with 4xfsaa at 1024x768 with 40+fps in a heavy firefight so its a good card (thats on my dads pc) ill hopefully pull faster fps with mine after i get it all hooked up. i wish i had a 9700 pro..

well....until i get my new card :P

I would like a better graphics card, but I am very suprised at how the MX440 has withstood overclocking and its game performance, I can run vice city at nice resolution (1240xblehbleh (im sllightly drunk)) with options turned up, no lag, same with battlefield 1942, which is a real resource hog so I am quite suprised....i think my chip and RAM are making up for it, its definatly the bottleneck at the moment, but I wont need to upgrade untill the new gen of games methinks (Half life 2, Doom 3)

For them Ill prob pick up a secondhand geforce 4 ti4600 and overclock and softmod it it, I hear these cards rock for speed and overclocking

Moneys kind of short here at the mo, I just blew all of mine on a guitar

a ti4600 can beat a 5600 in some areas....... however i dont know about the ti4600 going good over directx9.... its a directx8.1 card, so who know :D

Kinda suprising how many of us have Ge4 MX 440's, although you guys all seem to have the exact same card almost, i got the 128MB AGP card version.

yeah i know, which sucks, but Im hoping theres a way to softmod it.....who knows, i hope there is, otherwise its "saving for months" time
