Ok, i'm getting a new Computer, because my older brother is complains too much. Let's say, everday?

Anywayz, Comcast cable is connected to his computer. My room is next to him, so is there any cords? or ways i can share the connection?

If there's a cord to buy, where do I buy it? CompUSA? Best Buy? or what? :)

That was my problem when I got Cable, so I put a wireless network in. It does cost some money, buy easier to buy wireless then wired. I am not sure if there is a "Splitter" cord, Maybe someone else might know.

Try a hub for about $30 or a router for twice that. Add a cat5 cable, $10 and up, and you have it!

Damn, that's hella money!

Something more simple???

I might just have to go to CompUSA to ask for their reccomendations..

Oh, FFS

Go look for a used hub and cable then. Take a bit of initiative.

We've given you the answers. What you do with them is up to you but at least be reasonable and give some credit to those who try to help.

I find that Comp USA statement very insulting. Or very revealing, one of the 2.

Oh, FFS

funny thing is, though I'd never seen that acronym before, I knew precisely what it meant.

It's only 40???TIGHT!!!...
Sorry, i didnt really pay attention. I thought its 30, then twice it, then 10 which all equal to 70. Well 70 ant a lot either. But thanks.

I've been asking other forums for reccomendations too..

I'll think it over.

Here's one of the methods:
If you only have two computers, here is my suggestion...

Put two NICs in one computer.
Put one NIC in other computer.

In the first computer, hook up the cable.
Then use the extra NIC to run it to the second computer.

If using XP, just use the stupid little home networking wizard to set it up in no time flat.

This is far easier, and far less expensive than any router method
And you can also use a hub (or switch) to increase it to multiple computers.

Here's another one:
okay all you got to do bro is hook your cable modem up through USB, then go to bestbuy or whatever and get a crossover cable that you put between the 2 computers. then run the network setup wizard. that is the cheapest and easiest way

Tell me what you guys think?

if you got a old 133mz POS you can turn it into a router, the only real problem if you had a power outage you would have to wait it to boot in order to get the dhcp info

the cross over cable is the cheapest and easiest solution so long as your rat fink bro keeps his machine switched on :D
