ggggrrrrrrrreaaaaaaaaaaaatttttt another 20 something pages on building a pc

for that budget you can get

amd 3200 barton
9800xt
160GB hdd
and the best stuff in every category

Mad Cat

I doubt you can get the best in every category.

$2500 = about £1500

My PC is cosing £1,100 or something.

So if he got best speakers + best sound card (around £300) that brings him to £1,400. 2gb of RAM over my 1gb brings to about £1,500. Plus the highest in every other category going.

I think not.

for 2500? yes u could...i would so some research for you but im gonna go get some money fixing somebodys computer...they said theri burner isnt working

most expensive mobo at new egg=116
most expenisve amd = 324
most expensive hdd = 292
most expensive rams = 289
and 500 for gfx card

that total up to be 1521 dollars....leave him w/ 1000 left for monitor, keyboard, mouse, fans, lights, and psu.

dont need speakers, just got the logitech z-560's for christmas, dont need mouse or keyboard either got a new mouse for christmas and my keyboard is still fairly new.

im thinking about getting a p4 3.2 and a top of the line vid card, sound card, motherboard, ram.

but the cost of all the parts right now are around $2300 so i have a couple hundred to play with.

DWk

2300!??!!? thats 2 much....specially if you already have good speakers....post full specs here? cuz if you're planning on gaming, better get an amd, its better for gaming

from waht i hear, and from reading reviews, amd are better for gaming....and faster than p4 in daily uses....and for much less

the things i gave you are the most expensive things i can find at newegg and you still have 1000 left on a nice monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc...

and i said most EXPENSIVE, not nessecary the best, just the most expensive.

We already have another thread about this very thing and Dawg's 400 page opus on how to assemble it.
Isn't there already enough data around here to make some decisions already?

anywayz.....

so are you going w/ p4? you could save a lot of money going amd...but if i were you, i wouldnt spend all that money on a comp...maybe 1500, that will still let you play any games you want at max setting and 1000 for any thing else you need/want

_John_Lennon_
12-28-2003, 04:56 AM
THATS From the Crossroads movie?

im not sure yet, this new comp is going to be a multimedia comp as well, and ive heard the hyper threading is sweet and im quite a multitasker.

Mr. Elmo
12-28-2003, 04:59 AM
if its for multi media, then yea, i think you should go w/ p4....but to blow all that money on one comuter....

He's saying this could easily turn into one.

But from that review, I found this page.

http://www20.tomshardware.com/cpu/20030923/athlon_64-52.html

Those are all top TOP of the line comps, AMD and Intel, right around your price range. :D

nice link, john....

if im not wrong, i think there was a site where you could go and put what you wanted ur pc to be (gaming, media editing, etc), then you'd select price range (or maximum spendable money) and it gave you some combos...

anyone have a page like this?
