If I'm after freeware, I usually have an idea of what I want it to do.

So the only search I'd use is for a type of program
Like "email client", for instance.

However, good site navigation will make the need for that kind of search redundant.

actually....the search button usually just pays off when what you are looking for is something you already know....although browsing through files randomly is good for knowledge :D

i prefer like "popular downloads" section, "most downloaded", etc..... u get the point :D

is the search engine that much of a hassle, SH? i thought u got it working?

edit - btw.... the search function works better (and possibly one of the reasons why it works better) if you can refine your search by searching within your results or sorting it through several options (date, popularity, license, etc.)

:D

i used the verified links in forums... most of the shareware comes with either a working serial key or a crack.

I prefer to browse through all files in a category. With that I sometimes discover new programms I like, which I wouldn't have found if I used a search option.
