I am thinking of formatting my hard drive.

Do I have to reinstall my OS and all of that if I were to do a format?

What other things should I be concerned about?

Its pretty easy.

If you want to format and put windows XP on, go into the BIOS and set the first boot device to CD-ROM.

Save and exit the bios and put the WinXP cd into the cd rom and let it boot from the cd.

Its extremely easy because the setup asks you exactly what you want to do so you cant go wrong.

Perfect.

All I would add to this is to choose the full format option, not the "quick" version.
