Their is a PC dvd rom and if you flash it with a certain firware update, it can read xbox games way better than the default xbox drives.

The stupid part is, when you flash it, you cant use it to read normal disks in your pc unless you reflash it ;)

I have to find that site again.

Yes, that&#39;s exactly what I mean. You can rip songs and save them to your Xbox hard drive, but the Thompson drive won&#39;t read from a CD-R, while the Samsung will&#33;

Send the Xbox back to Microsoft and say the drive is locking up and not working.

With luck, they&#39;ll send you a new/reconditioned Xbox, maybe with a better drive :D
