I do not know much about Codecs.

I have installed a couple of packs (fogottenwhich ones)

I hav installed G Code.

This reports that I have 32 Codecs installed.

Is this a good number to have for most users ?

PS I wish G code would print out a list !

The more codecs you have, the better off you will be. They don't mess with your system unless you have miltiple versions of the same codecs. They would conflict.
But, the more codecs you have, the better off you are. You can watch whatever you want. like, myself, I have about 37 video codecs and 26 audio codecs. I have no trouble playing anything... so far.
But to go with codecs, you should make sure you have a pretty capable player. I like Media Player Classic. Very flexible, light, and self-contained.

More is not always better. If you can get by with it fine. But why have stuff you'll never have a need for. If you ever run into codec conflict problems it can be a real pain. Just me 2 cents. :)

You only really need to update from the codec pack on the K-lite site is when you can't play a file.

If that happens, use Gspot and download that codec!
