My guess is having your computer on 24/7 is costing an extra $30-40 USD a month.

I get electric cheap (real cheap) because I have a dodgy meter. You can put a magnet near it to make it start going again, so I clock the readings on the meter up a little so the electric people won't think my meter is dodgy, so they won't replace it. And since it only looks like I'm using a fifth of normal I only have to pay a fifth of normal.

I have about 3 electic heaters running 24/7, and they really eat power, yet I pay hardly anything compared to what it would cost with them all on :P

meh, so what do you pay? $200 seem too much for electric to me....we dont even have our heater on that much....

I don't really know what I pay, I think it must be like £60 per quarter at most.

PCs usually do not use much power at all so I doubt that it would kick up your bills much.

£60 is about $90.

I get that much every month, which is still high for the UK for a single guy (with girlfriends :D) and no kids.

Your PC costs approximately $11.88 per month to operate at full load 24/7

{300 watts avg full load consumption} .33 x .05 (5 cents per kilowathour) x 24 hours x 30 days = $11.88

I pay about 40 canadian dollars a month. It would be about 30 bucks if it wasn't for my computer and the wifes computer being on all the time. We live in an apartment with hot water heat that is why our bill isn't very high though

Per quarter, IE 3 months. Actually it might be less, haven't really checked the bills in a while, I get them quarterly, IE every 3 months.

The methods they use to take your bills in the UK are really lax if you are out they will just post a card and ask "you" to write down your power consumption via the metre.
