My Benchmark Scores

Hey! I just figured you would want to see what kind of results my new computer is putting out now with my 9700Pro

In 3DMark2001 I got- 14915. That is a very high score and I am VERY happy with it.

In 3DMark2003 I got- 4950. Also high..I'm very happy with my new system :D

All of my settings are stock

when running 3dmark...you leave them at there original setting...meaning no aa or af.

why does it say you have a duron?

I was wondering the same thing about the Duron..When I clicked settings it said type Athlon XP...I think its fine.

Nothing on my system is overclocked either. I have a 2500XP. 3rd gen ur CPU is better but my graphics card is much better...I dont know why Im not getting higher results.

Ive also updated my 2001 Score, it went up when I put it on optimal performance.

I Need to install the latest drivers, and then I will run it again.

Should I have the sound test on or not?

It was off when I ran the test. I will get the latest drivers, make sure all filtering is off, and run both of them again and then update my score. :D

I updated my drivers from Windows Update, but I dont think it put the Catalyst drivers on there, because it says version like 7.35468 or something....

I'm going to now download the Catalyst 3.10 drivers...THEN run the test. I will Update the original scores also.

I highly advise that you download rage3d tweak like I told you and follow the instructions.

The only thing I will use the rage3d is if i want to overclock it. The guide says what everything does and what to set it on, but its already set to what he says to set it too. Do I need to have the program running to have it tweak my graphics card? Or will It just tweak it and then I can exit. Just by turning it on does it automaticly tweak it? Doesnt seem like it..

Haha..all these guides tell you to turn off the special looks and stuff...Im sorry, but I just cant use the 98 look. I love the XP look lol. I will leave it off for benchmarking though.

but why does these scores matter? you only play bf1942 and that card has more than enough power to play it at max setting w/ aa and af on max.

I don&#39;t know why you are really wasting your time with 3d mark03, Aquamark3 is a far superior benchmark.

Oh, and be sure to read to read tweakhound&#39;s guide to Norton...but only disable Antivirus if you are smart enough to remember to manually scan everything you download. You will see realtime performance increases if you do not have norton autoprotect service running all the time.

"real time scanning" is for newbs, which you might or might not be. Norton is a real resource hog, but I need antivirus to scan things I download from the internet. So I right click whatever I download and select "scan with norton antivirus," but I do not have it running in the backround all of the time; it uses up too much physical ram and CPU cycles, and I consider myself an advanced user.

u dont need to run any tests other than the 4 game tests to obtain a 3d score so u can switch the sound test off

if u want to incraese that score without ocing u should switch the 3d control to optimal performance as i said b4 and just b4 u click run hit ctrl+alt+del, close all processes that aint needed and set 3dmarks priority to High.

If you have not noticed, barely anyone uses 3dmark03 anymore. Aquamark3 has become the standard for benchmarking because it uses all the features of DX8 and DX9.

Ok, Also when Im playing BF1942, the EA GAMES "challange everything" screen looks really bad. Also, the main screen is hard to read and is blurry. The gameplay looks great, but the words while im playing are also blurry and stuff...quite weird.

I am putting this in game world too.

Did you go to settings and raise the screen resolution to 1024X768?

fire up regedit:

navigate to:

find the entry:

SecondLevelDataCache

It is a REG_DWORD

double click it and make sure that the hexadecimal value is 200, which should show up as 512. Reboot. Now Windows knows that you have a 512 kb L2 cache. Okay?

Set "DisablePagingExecutive" to 1, too. That tells Windows to keep its brain in memory.

Also make sure that you select application controlled AA and AF in open GL and direct 3d. Make sure that vertical sync is off too.

look here (http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=1890&p=5) you should have a score about 30,000 because those benches were done with a prescott.

We&#39;ll figure it out. But you have to show us the comparison URL. ;)

Yes, I have. I ran all the benchmarks on my old system, and then on this one. Supprisingly quite a bit of difference ;)

Pssh, well my 7500 will mean I can run most games on medium graphics.

Who needs to see the advanced pixel shading on the freaking walls anyway? Jet le it be so I can see the flames coming out of a flame thrower (cant do that with partciles on low in halo) and I will be fine.

Ive ran burn in test for 3 nights in a row and never went over 40 degrees. I think it might almost be time to overclock...but I will try that protein folding thing clocker suggested. Where can I get that at?

so if you&#39;re just surfing the internet, there are lots of spare cycles for it to use

but if you&#39;re gaming, there are hardly any spare cycles so it limits its own use

As you can see my CPU temp has stayed at a steady 37C with 100% CPU Usage. Seems great to me :)
