The Point Of an Xbox is that it has more better graphix and a hd built in and a dvd drive playback in game costum soundtracks and a hell of a lot more feauturs a question like that is like what is the point of a ps2 or a gameube the answer are/ will be diff in everybodys mind its for u to decide

and microsoft didnt make them bul;letproof vests if they did one shot and the dude is dead its bascially a grenade in a box ;)

Any game that is made jaggy free with superb looking characters and lighting and shaders with the right application of textures and made by the right developers who push the XBOX to the limits is worth mentioning as a game truel made for ONLY ON XBOX!

Ive had my XBOX for about 11 months, and now it doesnt play game disks. It does play CDs & DVDs&#33;

I have tried using air duster it didnt work. Would a lens cleaner help, or is my console just really dirty inside, or what else could the problem be.?

(a)do NOT use a lense cleaner this can make things alot worse, go ahead and call xbox tech support and have your console setup for service if you wanna do it the right way and have microsoft repair it. if you wanna do it yourself then its gonna cost the same just about but your gonna be held responsible if ya screw somthing up. just gota buy a samsung xbox drive from some place,

(q)&nbsp; How do i change my xbox name?

(a)Here is one of the many ways to change your Xbox’s system-link name:
First off, one of the ways to find your Xbox’s name, is rent, buy, or own Halo. On the main menu screen go to multiplayer and then click Split Screen. Chose any profile, any level, and any game. On the next screen, which has the outlines of four controllers and the Xbox, you will see your Xbox’s name above the Xbox on the left side of the screen. Now that you&#39;ve seen your Xbox’s name, if you like it, keep it. If you don&#39;t, the next paragraph will explain how to change it.

Rent, buy, or own Dead Or Alive 3. On the main menu screen go to Survival Mode. Then chose any character, and any costume, then start the match. Now you need to score in the top 5. This may vary if your Xbox has Dead Or Alive 3 data saved on the hard-drive. You may not have to fight at all, or you may need to fight a couple matches to score in the top 5. I would try not fighting first, and if that doesn&#39;t work, win a couple matches, then lose one. Once you&#39;ve scored in the top 5, you will have the option of choosing a new name, or names your Xbox has or had. Choose the new name icon, then scroll up or down to choose your letters or numbers, and then end.

If you wish to see your Xbox&#39;s new name for yourself, repeat the steps in the first paragraph. Deleting files on either game will not change the name. There is a chance however, that playing and progressing on other games will change your Xbox’s name to the name of the profile on that game. Your Xbox’s name can be changed in the way stated above as many times as you wish.

(Q)Any way to increase volume?The music and sound effects are fine, but I would like to increase the character voices. I don&#39;t have Surround Sound. And cannot seem to find Volume Controls on my current games (HALO, MP2, Splinter Cell)

(A)Unless the title features an in-game menu to adjust separate sound channels, then you may not be able to increase the volume of specific sounds within the game. If you haven&#39;t done so by now, you might want to check each game&#39;s instruction manual to see if such an in-game menu setting exists for that title.

Since you mentioned that your Xbox is not connected to a Dolby Digital surround sound set up, you might want to check that the "Audio" option in the Xbox Dashboard&#39;s "Settings" menu is set to either "Stereo" or "Mono" (depending on your speaker set up).

If this doesn&#39;t increase the clarity of the characters&#39; voices, then unfortunately there may not be a way to improve the sound to your liking.

I wish I could provide more assistance than this, but I hope that helps somewhat.

the diffrence is slight but affects the gameplay like the older ones have diff hd and the new ones have samsung hd (best qual)

I found this site and shows you how to use a 616T Samsung DVD-rom in your xbox.

Its supposed to work way better than the normal drive.

No. The point of the xbox was that microsoft saw the console market as a good potential source of income and profit... after all, they could originally only target the PC market with microsoft games studios.

Actually, splinter cell is available on playstation 2, pc and gamecube. In fact, the gamecube version isn&#39;t distinguishable from the xbox version. Also, soul calibur is available on all consoles. (The way you phrased this entire one paragraph long sentence was pretty confusing, so im sorry if i misinterpreted it)

Its not only that, in fact I&#39;ve heard porting from PC to console is hard as hell.

I know that Xbox to PC is easy for developers too.

I meant that a load of games that used to be PC series/PC games have been made on the Xbox.

Not ported, but like a whole new engine just same game name/storylines etc.

Theres no point in overclocking the xbox as its just a stupid Intel celeron 733 mhz CPU....

I read somewhere that even if you could put a faster cpu or overclock it, the games will actually run in fast forward mode because they are designed to work with that speacific cpu speed.

But you can add more ram to it by soldering on an extra stick of 64mb.

The fact that the xbox can hold up to 100 m polygons /sec can be misleading, notice it says RAW. Thats not accounting for textures, AI, all the real properties you get with a game, which gamecube and playstation 2&#39;s figures account for.
