I have about $100 to spend and I either buy more memory or a new hard drive. But i dont know what to pick. I curently have a 4gig harddrive and 160Mb of Ram. I can get a 120 gig for under $100 or i can upgrade to 256Mb of Memory. What do you guys recommend?

That would work...but a 40GB Hard drive doesnt have a very good price per GB. The bigger you buy the cheaper each Gig is. Depends on what you do man...your choice. You will see a big performance increase with more ram, but if you download stuff then you would want more HDD space.

First off, we need to know what kind of CPU and Ram you have.

If its say, something that takes SD ram, which I think it would seeing as how you probably have a 32MB module, and a 128MB module, you can get a nice 80GB hard drive for say, 76 or so, and use that extra 20+ to buy some SD -Ram.

Of course, if your PC is as old as I think it is, your BIOS might not support a 80GB hard drive.

His BIOS should support it.i had my 80 gig drive running on the Celeron 300 that I threw together when my good computer broke down a little while ago. The board I was using was an old Tomato board circa 1996.
