What do you guys think about this digital camera: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp...%3A3959%3A47602 (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2161948&cat=47602&type=19&dept=3944&path=0%3A3944%3A3959%3A47602)

Is it a good camera for the price? Does anybody here own one? How good of quality pictures does it take? Does it take pretty good quality video?

5 Megapixels are great quality pictures.
Not sure about the camera though.

Try Google.

I googled it and read some reviews and they sounded pretty good. Does anybody here have this camera or something pretty similar to it that could give me some opinions?

Its got 90 days labour and 1 year parts warranty.

If you don't like it within the first few days of buying it, keep the receipt and take it back.

Oh yeah, Sony is a good make. So if you can afford it, looks pretty good to me!

Yeah sony makes great cams from what I hear. Thats a low price for a 5 Megapixel camera too. Looks good.

on cameras your best bet is a cannon, when I first saw this thread I thought you started another camcorder thread, http://members.cox.net/dodger1954/doh.gif

if you can save alittle more you can pick up a g5, I have seen some amazing pics with that, plus you can always add lenses and filters later on

One thing to keep in mind is the memory stick that comes with all Sony products.
While it's great that these sticks are usuable across the entire Sony product range, they are also very expensive.

Myself, I opted for a Kodak digtal camera last year: the 3.1MP DX4330
Part of the Easyshare range, it's a piece of cake to set up and you get a wealth of extras, like the travel bag with extra batteries and recharger
The new 5.1 MP Easyshare cam is available with a really sweet printer dock/recharger...

My New Digital Camera just arrived. (Sony Cyber-shot 5.0mp DSC-P92).

Here is a picture I just took of me (bad hair day) for those of you who were wondering how good of quality of pictures it would take.

When I copy the pictures from my camera to my computer each one of the pictures is 2mb + . The only way I know of to reduce the size of the picture down to a couple 100 kb is to go to paint and resave it to jpeg (Which is the format its already in). Is there any easier way to reduce the size of my pictures to a couple 100 kb?

DWk
01-06-2004, 03:07 AM
resize them man....they are HUGE.... thats not bad for taking pictures but its bad for posting them on the net..... i think you need a resolution of like 2048 to look at them ok...

just resize them till the size drops to less than 200kb

Triadcool
01-06-2004, 03:11 AM
But is there an easier way to reduce the size in kb then going into paint and resaving them again?

DWk
01-06-2004, 03:14 AM
why not resize them man? make them at least HALF the size they are now....

and no there isnt a way unless you lose A LOT of quality

Triadcool
01-06-2004, 03:20 AM
Well that cant be true because I take a 2.01mb picture and open it with paint then I save it as jpeg (Not editing at all) and it is now 432kb. No quality loss or anything.

Triadcool
01-06-2004, 04:00 AM
Is there an easier way to do this?

this pic came from one, I'm not sure of all the differences but look @ the quality of yours and a pic from it, still think you made a poor choice overall

There are quite a few programs out there for re-sizing/compressing multiple images, have a look on google. Or get a hold of Photoshop Elements.

Hey here is another picture (better and smaller) that I just took after I learned how to use the focus and stuff. Tell me what you think of the quality of the pictures this camera takes. But before you judge take in account that its night time and im in my dark room.
