Silly question realy but is there any software which I can use to insert a point on a wav file so a cd player will reconise it as the end of a track and the start of another. I want to be able to write an 80 min cd with 15 track brakes (for want of a better word) so I can skip it forward to another track on my cd player so I dont have to keep holding down the fast forward button for ages.

I dont know a lot about editing mp3 or wav files so would appreciate any help. I have Nero 6 ultra edition and cant figure out if it is possible to do it with the audio editing software.

I expect there is some simple little program out there which i can simply right click within the mp3 or wav sound display and mark the track as a start/finish point so a cd player can skip certain parts of a cd if needed to.

I just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Thanks

Well that happens anyways with a 2 second gap between tracks when you cut as an audio cd OR are you on about you have one track ( album)and want to split it.

Albumwrap extractor will work, but only if the file has been wrapped with albumwrap when it was made. It usually has "ALBW" in the file name if it's albumwrapped.

If it's not a valid albumwrap file you can still cut it with an audio editor. Try the free program Audacity. (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/about.php) You will end up with files with no ID3 tag information so your player won't know the titles to the tracks. Use a tag editor to enter this.

I usually don't bother to do any of this, I dump the file and look for a valid albumwrap or a .rar file.
