Why do people think everything deserves to be in lounge. For chit-chat and vague topics this might be the best place. But for news like this it deserves to be in InternetWorld or WebDevelopment.

I guess I can say I dont come to the lounge because of people like you.
But I have better things to do, and less time to argue.
Have it either way! I dont care.

I think you pretty much made this lounge material now by using that. There wasnt a goose chase to get it to InternetWorld. Geez!
Its a pathetic scene to watch you do this. No wonder people dont like this forum anymore!

I say we upgrade the forum software. Why not? Perhaps it'll be down for a few days, and we can return to that little "side-forum!"

I don't think we should yet.

It's not a good idea to use an Alpha release.

We have those here too.
As for upgrading, on a forum of this size, I would think waiting for at least a Beta version would be prudent. We all know what kind of havoc downtime creates around here. :)

It doesn't matter if it's a good idea to try an alpha release, it's not even public yet.

Since I've started hanging around the OC.com forum I've come to really like the look of that forum software (vBulletin 2.2.2.6).
I know nothing about the technical aspects of forum software, but when I switch from one to the other this forum looks sorta rinky-dink, IMO.
Nimdock

What is rinky-dink?

 Is it the word itself that yer questioning Nimdock, or its use to describe this forum?
Nimdock
01-04-2004, 05:49 AM
Well I actually have no idea what "rinky-dink" means... that's what I'm asking.
titey
01-04-2004, 05:52 AM
.RINKY-DINK (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=rinky-dink) :D
Nimdock

Now I got it... :D
So he means this one feels smaller and old fashioned... right?

 You'd hafta ask clocker exactly what he meant, but I'd guess the other forum he refers to has a different sort of skin an' some extra bells-n-whistles.
