ok, we replaced the mobo, and case, and installed the drives and such, and it all works, until it tries to boot.....

after saying "Verifying DMI Pool......... success" it goez to the next line and stops with the _ cursor b\linking endlessly

i kno it can boot cuz it boots off of the floppy disk

If you can access BIOS, make sure that the box for "Stop on all errors" is unticked ( there may be an options list for this...change it so it's "stop on no errors").

If the above advice doesn't work then check to see if all the components are correctly fitted and the jumpers properly set, and the boot devices and order are correct on the bios.

From my experience the only reason it would stop from booting is if it were looking for boot record and couldnt find it. The most likely reason this occured could be because you have the IDE cable connecting the hard drive the wrong way around. :o , but i'm just guessing as i'm not there to see  .

well, it can read the drive (i did with a boot disk!) but it wont boot

my friend will first try all of your suggestions (thanx guys!) and if that doesnt work, he will reinstall XP Pro (have a sneaking suspicion that it wont boot cuz XP cant find RAID drivers for his RAID DFI LANPARTY Mobo

My boot sequence has a spot where you are given the opportunity to install RAID drivers.
If you watch carefully, you may see this option in yours also.

After I restart, It goes to Update DMI..... it says cannot find ntldr. can you please try to fix this. My computer has teh ntldr File. but the computer we just installed windows xp on dosnt. Do you think this is becuase of a defected disk or an Master Boot Record virus. Please Respond as soon as posssible. Also, Do you have AIM, I would like to speak to you there. Thanks. You dont have any floppies, or CD's in the drives when you start up do you?

Netloader will sometimes trip up like that if it is getting checked for in a floppy or disc.
