Single Player was repetetive. You played the same part of the level just repeated, many many times.

Multiplayer is good.

Graphics are dated.

Gameplay is generally ok. Needs more stuff other than, "shoot gun, kill stuff."


Well, if we are talking best ever you'd have to look at the oldies too. Doom ruled (in its day) etc etc.

I'd have to say Unreal. Unreal ruled.

i don't really have a favorite. halo is great online. most fps don't have the best storyline. if they made kotor into a part rpg part 3rd/1st person shooter like the jedi knight series, that would be amazing

i&#39;ve gotta admit tht the single player was repetitive, especially when you had to kill the flood, however at the time halo was a great game.

all the best fps are online, seeing as tht wont get repetative if it was designed right. its just personal preference if u like halo online, CoD online, cs, unreal ect.

At the time it wasn&#39;t a great game.

No other developer has tried to make an Xbox game to contest Halo. Thats the only reason its "best."


Like when it came out on the PC it was old and outshaded by much older PC games.

I think TimeSplitters 2 is absolutely brilliant for multiplayer action. It had lots of choice and customisation. The only downside was repeated weapons - why have single pistol and double pistols as separate weapons? You should have been able to just pick two up and use them both.

I can&#39;t wait for TS3.

Anyway, I think that Unreal Tourney is good for online action.

I&#39;ve not really tried much else.

I don&#39;t think he was putting them in order. Although I don&#39;t see why anyone would rate Hitman 2 as the best ever 1st person shooter, when it was clearly supposed to be played as a third person shooter. Plus it wasn&#39;t really so great.

Half Life wins...the single player was awsome for it and opposing force only helped. Then there are the mods...so many wonderful mods. I figgure any game that can keep me playing for ~5 years is a damn good game. btw doom 95 also rocks :)

Goldeneye rules all. Theres nothing more kickass than the RC-P90. 80 bullet clip of pure ass-kicking/ruling/owning/just-plain-destroying. Fucking great.

actually, there were earlier attempts on other platforms. Xybots on the Amstrad 464, for instance. Wolfenstein was certainly one of the first on PC, and the first i remember with textures instead of wireframes though. :)-
