View Full Version : Feeling Sorry For Yourself

Why is it that sometimes people feel like total shit, they truely believe they are crap at everything and everyone is against them?
I really don't understand this at all.
They sit around with a miserable look on their face wishing for something that will more than likely never happen and mope about it.
They try to cheer themselfs up with some music and a drink and that may make them smile for a little while but then they hear a song that knocks them right back to the start.
So then there's the drink, does it help?, does it make them feel worse but they can't see it?

Is there an answer for this?

No not really, bugger :(

Heaps of it.

Uninvited concentrated love injections.

That will cheer them up.

"What the world needs now
is love, sweet love
it's the only thing
that there's just too little of
What the world needs now
is love, sweet love,
no not just for some
but for everyone.

Lord, we don't need
another mountain,
there are mountains
and hillsides enough to climb
There are oceans
and rivers enough to cross,
enough to last
'til the end of time.

What the world needs now
is love, sweet love
it's the only thing
that there's just too little of
What the world needs now
is love, sweet love,
no, not just for some
but for everyone.

Lord, we don't need
another meadow
there are cornfields
and wheat fields enough to grow
There are sunbeams
and moonbeams enough to shine
oh listen, lord,
if you want to know.

What the world needs now
is love, sweet love
it's the only thing
that there's just too little of
What the world needs now
is love, sweet love,
no, not just for some
but for everyone.

No, not just for some,
oh, but just for everyone."

Life answers to no-one.
Drink is good, its what I use. I know why I drink, I know the problems in my life that makes me wanna drink. The hard part is facing those problems head on.

I know the feeling of helplessness in life man and it sucks.
But as Frank Spencer once said:

Everyday in everyway, I'm getting better and better!

Anyways loves ya man (in a friendly, non homosexual way!)

Probably won't be a very popular opinion but self pity is a rather unattractive trait - everyone gets a bit moody or depressed sometimes but whining about how hard one's life is overly self-indulgent - there are millions of people out there dealing with situations a hell of a lot worse.

A lot of people don't understand it, not even the ones who are going through the hard times, or the ones who are feeling so bloody miserable. It's because feeling as they do, they just don't see any good at the time.

We all have our low times and sometimes we cannot find the cause for them, we just have them..it's life, not everyone is happy all the time. You couldn't of gone through all your life feeling happy all the time ;) We all have different reasons for feeling shit..sometimes there are people around us to help, at time there are not and maybe those times we reach for the bottle..I know I do it myself. Drink does help yes...at the time, because it just takes all the bad things away for that short time, it's like a reprieve...but its downside is, it just all comes flooding back the morning after, along with the headache.

We can only be happy with ourselves and try and deal with things best we can, no one is perfect..and we each deal with things differently, some better than others. All we can do is be there for people and hope we can help in some way :)

@ Skillian...Self Pity may look unattractive, but when you are feeling real shite and feel you have no reason to smile, then sometimes it's hard to actually think what others are going through in the world, because all you can think about is what's happening to yourself at the time..sad..but true!!
