the best one is MyIE2. all the cool ppl use it. lol. no really. it has all the features of opera and firebird and so on, and it's built on the IE core, so all sites will work with it. i've used it for a few months now, and no probs at all

Mozilla is good...but it uses up too much resources on my computer
Opera is another "Tabbed" browser which is really good as well

Ya, I use myIE2 also. The one complaint I have with it is that it doesn't support unicode <_<

Amen. Firebird owns. Especially with the TBExtensions, AdBlock, and Nuke plugins.

Did I mention Windows sucks too?

Have you tried MyIE2? I used to use Firebird but recently started using MyIE2. Turns out it is quite excellent. The plugins with it are a programmers dream come true in a browser ;)
I like Firebird as well but because most sites are built for IE, and being a webdeveloper/programmer myself I prefer MYIE2 being built on IE's rendering engine.

I really like Opera (http://www.opera.com).

I use MYIE2.
Opera wasn't to my style... kind of weird to me, but I heard it's good, secure, blah blah blah. I wouldn't pay for it.
Mozilla, I think is good on Linux, but there are better on Windows. It has tabs and is pretty fast, and secure, though.
Firebird is fast, but it doesn't nearly have as many features as MYIE2.
MyIE2 is fast, not bloated, supports soem good plug-ins, has tons of featues including a pop-up blocker, but so do many other browsers, but it's better to just edit the HOSTS file. HOSTS file info (http://accs-net.com/hosts/)

In the long run... it's up to you. Just check them all out.

MYIE2 (http://www.myie2.com/)
Mozilla and Firebird (http://www.mozilla.org/)
Avant Browser (http://www.avantbrowser.com/) I know nothing about Avant Browser
Opera (http://www.opera.com/) It has an ad banner if you don't pay, I believe

Any one of thoose will do.

You could change your browser like you change clothes.http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/_950/upset.gif

You may get tired of using the same one all the time. Eventhough on linux I use one browser ONLY and thats mozilla firebird.

When it comes to windows I guess you can sort of have your pick.http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/j0/thinking.gif

That's a disgraceful stance...

Code to standards, not a browser. While IE6 is a vast improvement, it still does some really annoying rendering. It's support for the PNG image format blows, and its support for CSS is very lacking compared to just about every other modern browser.

You didn't understand the point or you are obviously new to this field. I don't write codes specific to IE, obviously we generally write platform independent and browser independent and if possible use alternate code for netscape and IE after detecting.

What I meant was, most people design their websites for IE. Who said IE has a great rendering engine, but a decent one. I know the problems about PNG support so we use alternate format. If the browser doesnt support CSS its alternate is done. You missed the point!
Most people who make their personal websitesor many commercial dont bother too make browser independent. For that very reason I use MyIE2. :)

Hope things are clearer now,
I.am

Install MyIE2 combo. It includes all the plug-ins and you can CHOOSE to install them or not. As for spyware, the UCMORE plug-in is spyware. DONT INSTALL IT. It's useless, but some of the other plug-ins are very useful. I get no spyware coming from ANY of the other plug-ins. About AI Roboform... I woudn't use it. Don't know about it, but I don't need a program filling out forms for me....

all of the plugins arent included in the combo pack. only somewhere around 10 of them are (i think....give or take a few). there is a rather large list of available plugins here (http://www.myie2.smsnet.pl/). ;)
