What Makes This Forum So Fast Loading?

When comparing with other PHP-CGI-Forum Scripts (yabb is very popular as well), the Invision Boards are loading very fast to my positive surprise.

Does the sped of loading of the site depends on the structure of the script, means how the script is written?
