View Full Version : What A Joke

I recently ran across the eMule file sharing program and figured I would try it. What piece of crap!!!! It's almost as bad as ShareaZaa. It can find files when I search, but never finds a source. If it does find a source it only downloads a little bit and then stops, just like Shareaza. I thought Shareaza was the biggest joke for filesharing I mean who wants to wait two frickin weaks for a download. And that's probably being generous. I have been trying to use both Shareazaa and eMule for about 3 months now and have probably only finished 10 downloads.

Lets just say that Emule has lots of sources, but it ain't good for those who have low patience. Sometimes you might get lucky, sometimes you don't(well when it comes to getting things like right now)

your probalby behind a router or firewall and emule is kind of on the slow side of p2p programs but it has alot of files but if you want those files you have to get overnet and for shareza its only great for using torrents for it off of suprnova.org

this is a help forum, not a freakin flame fest
dont like the program, dont use it :)
maybe you should ask for some advice on how to use it,
instead of bashing a tried and proven p2p app :)

or like guit said, go back to FT and d/l all the corruption you want :P

:o 1st post and hes already made friends :o :P  :D

eMule is great. Good speeds, stable and it doesn't suffer as much from things like fake / mislabeled files, screechy MP3's, viruses that are common on the FT network. However if its not for you, you could also try Overnet which has access to the emule network and address some of the speed problems some people experience with eMule itself (there are lite versions or Overnet posted in this forum for download) :)

the ed2k network is the 2nd largest for a reason. it isn't a piece of crap. don't use the search engine. use verified sites like sharereactor (http://www.sharereactor.com), download 30 files, upload at 80% capacity and let it run for a long time. while you are sleeping, at school or work. i have downloaded as much as 4 GB in 18 hours on a 1500/512 connection. i only run it overnight now and i usually complete 3 of my 30 downloads each night.

One of the reasons emule/edonkey is so successful is that to get results you have to share. Leave it on for a few hours and you'll soon see a big increase in speed once your credit rating has improved.

It is a pretty slow program when you compare it to kazaa but it has loooaaaads more content with new stuff arriving all the time. In fact if you try to find a new/rare file with kazaa(lite) it will take you a lot longer than emule, thats if you can get the file at all in the 1st place.

I used to use emule all the time but now that I've discovered overnetlite (thanks to this forum :)) I use that instead.

Kazaa speeds with emule content!

thats cool and all, but does overnet have the corruption handling like emule?
i'm sacrificing the speed for the quality ;)
if it does, i'd really like to know, might try it out :)

I'm not sure about that one, but I haven't experienced any corruption problems yet (fingers crossed).

i upload at 50 kB/s (80% capacity) on emule so i find surfing annoying. my original post should have been

i only run emule when i am sleeping or at work. i can't handle any resources from my P4 1.4 256 RAM PC being lost when i am gaming or a lack of bandwidth when i am surfing.

as opposed to

i only run emule when i am sleeping or at work. i can't handle any resources from my P4 1.4 256 RAM PC being lost when i am gaming or surfing.

I have been using e mule for months now and have downloaded over 55 gigs so far.. the downloads in the search are the worst for speed. The downloads you get from Here (http://www.sharereactor.com/) are the best speeds that you will get IMO. you can also get almost anytype of file you want. I think you should it a little more and try that site for a couple of weeks. If you dont like it then uninstall it.

Enjoy

i agreee. verified files are so well spread by the time they make it to sharereactor (http://www.sharereactor.com) that there are lots of sources. i almost never use the search engine.
