Dvd Question

There's a scene in a DVD that I want to make an avatar from, with there being lots of ways to convert and so on, what would be the quickest and easiest way to get at it?

use like flaskmpeg to rip strait from the dvd

With FLASKMPEG, why is it that when I try to convert a VOB file to MPEG, it only converts the first 2 mins of video but the whole audio track? Is there an option somewhere that needs to be set to do the whole video? ...only started useing the prog a couple of hours ago :)
