hi ppl, i am interested to buy and additional hard drive because mine is only 20 gigs, and I want to have a hard drive to run linux on separately here is some questions that I have

1. I have seen an external hd that uses usb 2.0, can all comps use usb 2.0, mine is from 2000 and i dunno if i have 2.0 and how can I get it?

2. can I have more than one internal hd?

1. no all comps do not have usb 2.0, but it has to be quite old not to...what is it called? or if you built it what is your motherboard called? and usb 2.0 is not just something you can get... its hardware not software. you can get a card that fits in a pci slot that has 2 usb 2.0 ports in it though
2. yes

just look on the back of your comp, do you have anything that looks remotly like this?

it doesnt have to be in that spot, you just have to have that port

if you computer came with a 20gb drive then it is quite likely it would have at least one usb port in it

if you don't have one you could get something like this (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=www.usbgear.com/images/5-p-1-1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.usbgear.com/usa/usb-super-sale.html&h=338&w=390&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dusb%2B2.0%2Bport%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8). if you have the money and a free pci slot which you probably do. this is 30$ you can likely get a cheaper version if you computer doesn't have a 2.0 usb port

You could just add another internal one. Save some money at the same time.

That is if he doesn't have USB 2.0 anyway, he hasn't replied to confirm it yet...
but your right VB, it would
