Shareaza Sux Balls

Well I decided to give it another go, I got a file off ShareReactor and opened it in both Shareaza and EMule, keep in mind I just formatted like a week ago, Shareaza seemed to start downloading the file right away and it seemed to have more sources while EMule just sat there like a mule. I thought Shareaza would have this one considering the start. So I went to sleep and when I woke up Shareaza had a whopping 20mb while EMule had 200mb just sitting there at some shit slow but steady speed, at the same time Shareaza has better speeds but would peek and the pause. Kinda remends me of the Rabbit and the Turttle. Not sure if the rewards system works better on EMule or if Shareaza only allows so much usage for the EDK2 network but it Sux for EDK2 files.

My older example was opening a torrent in both Shareaza and Shadow at the same time, Shareaza never got past 40KB/s while the same torrent in Shadow was going at 150KB/s at the same time. I am not sure if Shareaza can only handle a certain amount of connections or has other issues but it Sux for torrent files.

As for G2 it may be growing as I have heard it is creeping up on 100,000 users but what can be found there can probably be found quicker and easier elsewhere, it still does not have the rare files that EMule has or the speeds that others have thus it Sux.

Shareaza is nothing more than a pretty GUI with a hack on other networks that it seems to have less access to than that which it has hacked, it is great and simple perhaps for those that want one simple GUI or happen to be on dial up, but in general it Sux Balls.

I prefer having all my networks in one program, rather than having to install emule client, bittorrent client, gnutella client all separately.

It doesn't really matter to me if the speed of shareaza is slower, because my downstream can never go above 20KB/s anyway.

I use Raza also, and I have to admit that the speeds are totally frustrating as compared to K-Lite. Although my ADSL speed is 384/128 Kbps, I seldom D/L with speeds higher than 8-9 KB/s in Raza. On the contrary, in K-Lite 20+ KB/s is the not uncommon at all.

Since Raza has admittedly much better variety and quality of files however, I usually use K-Lite for movies (which are very big files, and also can be previewed so you know what u get), and Raza for music (small files) and apps (fakes can be disastrous).

I have been screaming that from the beginning, most seem to use it only for bittorrent, well most clients built on shad0ws client blow shareaza away, well with my limited use for e donkey network it was even slower than emule (didn't even think that was possible)
add that to the fact that they change the default setting to kbs tells me that they them selfs know its slower than the stand alone clients

They make it kb/s because it's more accurate, and you can change ti so waht does it matter?

I will admit Shadows is faster for BT, but I hardly use it so it doesn't matter.

And it is number one for G2, which is one of the best netowrks for music.

Ah you actually formed a sentence with a valid thought, thats good. Now are you telling me that you went to say a verified site and started a download, preferably a larger one, with both Shareaza and EMule and found that Shareaza completed the file first.

Or perhaps you got a torrent and opened it with both Shareaza and Shadow perhaps and found that Shareaza was faster thus completing the file faster.

Or is your actual only point that you can find some music on the G2 network, because if thats your point then I can&#39;t really disagree because I never used it much for music since I find SoulSeek much better...

It was a verified file for the ED2K network, but I believe the only reason it was faster was because it also downloaded off of G1 and G2.

You probly just dont know how to configure your crap to download from multiple networks simultaneoulsy , that is the main thing i like about raza.

Start a BT download and if the same file is on G2 its a breeze....

Dont like it dont use it, negative comments wont help anything but ur ego.

When I tested the two programs on the EDK2 network EMule never got beyond 10K and Shareaza never got beyond 15K, most of the time neither of them were downloading anything and were both quened. Considering the maximum bandwidth for this test was at 25K I don&#39;t think either program would be hogging anything since my downstream is cablable of 400K. It was just apperant that EMule was more steady perhaps because most EDK2 clients are EMule and may better reward other EMule clients through the credit system even on just the partial sharing of that one file which Shareaza may not reward or be rewarded or be regonized against other EDK2 clients perhaps. Thus Shareaza Sux Balls.

As for testing torrents I started Shareaza first since Shadow does max out my connection at times. On a popular torrent Shadow can run around 150K while Shareaza never gets beyond 40K on the same torrent, even if I pause Shadow to allow the extra bandwith to Shareaza it still never got beyond 40K. Not sure why though there are a few theroys, although I do know Shareaza Sux Balls.

Also when testing I never had anything else running, so your ASSumptions are just wrong. Also keep in mind between these test I have tested both popular and rare files. Why shall you all get so offeneded by the simple truth that compared to the individual clients, with the exception of G2, that it just Sux Balls.

Perhaps my ego is slightly inflated, I can admit to that, although my comments are well based in the facts and are intended to show that the individual clients have better preformance than Shareaza does, with the possible exception of G2. I am simply here to enlighten those that do not know that they could get better results with other clients since Shareaza really Sux Balls.

I use to be a shareaza fan on 56k, but now having adsl what seems to happen is the speeds may start of ok but then slip to crap.

I&#39;ve tried emule and thats pretty much crap as well with 10000 long queues and having to share 24/7 to build up any kind of credit with other users.

I&#39;m now using overnet for ed2k files and i&#39;m getting great speeds the gui may look crap but as along as the files come in at a decent speed i&#39;m happy.

I am also a Shereaza user who is hugley disappointed by its speed, but I cannot yet condemn it to a "sux balls" level. The reasons are the huge availability of its files, the multi-network support, and the absence of fakes. Although the leech issue is an undeniable drawback of Raza, the fact that it can accelerate the BT d/ls is a benefit.

But you can turn off the auto-clear facility, and then it will still share to other torrent clients.

The only point I have made here is that the clients on their own such as EMule or Shadow for a varity of reasons give better results which is why I came to the only obvious conclusion that I could, hopefully it will change, which is simply for now that Shareaza just...

I would think Shareaza would be the preferred choice for those of us who dont want to have to leave like 3 or 4 p2p programs open just to download off different networks, as that would consume up resources on a lower end machine. I also use shareaza, and i get good speeds. In fact, i adverage like 50 kb and above for most of my files.

U know, this reminds me of the whole Trillian/Gaim/Miranda intergrated program argument vs using MSN, Aim, Yahoo, ICQ, and all the other programs at one. All depends on preference and what ur machine can handle...

I&#39;m not happy with Shareaza. It&#39;s slow as heck. Those super fast bittorrent files take forever with my Shareaza. And I&#39;m tired of taking so much time to find tracks that I&#39;m looking for, which I find, and which then sit there in my download pane forever, not even twitching.

I&#39;m not competent to dissect and say why I don&#39;t like Shareaza. And I probably could tweak my settings to better advantage. (I just downloaded/ installed both the latest Shareaza and KL Resurrection and left the settings pretty much as a found them. But being something of a caring person, I lowered a few settings in my newest Shareaza that do searches on eDonkey2000. I was reading in their forums - they don&#39;t seem to like Shareaza much - and it seems there&#39;s an issue with Shareaza searches making life miserable for eDonkey file sharers, not that I completely understand it. The poster seemed to think that it would do both eDonkey and Shareaza good for Shareaza to revisit that.)

When I get the chance, I&#39;ll check over the faq for Shareaza again. I&#39;m also inclined to seperate my Shareaza from my Bit Torrent client after reading nothing but good things about how the client works without Shareaza.

Will Shareaza improve?
