0, because i disabled sharing with people. :P

I might have a t1 line and a 1.8 amd processor,

but my hardrive is 6gigs big, which means once i download a file, i use it and delete it right after im done using it. And if im sharing it, then i cant delete it.

If i had a bigger hardrive i would share. With winXp, all my work apps, leave me 1.50gigs of space, which isnt alot.

yep, a leech in my book. WTF would you have a 6 gig harddrive when you can afford a T1 line? I mean, seriously, use some of that money and get a BIGGER hardrive. And Master YodaX is right.

T1 lines are becoming very popular in apartment complexes. Its a fairly cheap way for an entire complex to have high speed internet connections for all its tenants. Until last month, I was only using a 10gig drive. Now I've only moved up to a 40, and I have to keep 20 gigs free for my DVD burning. --

Any ideas why I can't reconnect later to someones file ?? For instance there's a file called 3d studio max dinosaursrom that I have 3 incomplete versions in my shared file.Every time I find it again the user (trinity10) cuts me off and I'm never able to reconnect.Only start a fesh DL when I find it again and inevitably they cut me off 1/2 way through.???

Somewhere over 1,500. 1 movie "They Live" 4 videos, 2 Screaming Trees and 2 Killing Joke and 1,500 mp3's and about 60 something software files. Once I get a burner though I'll share movies only and burn my music.

Pokey you should download datreader from kazaasearch's site(put kazaasearch in google) or search the forum) and then run it go to the report page and click on it and use internet download manager(very fast and better than reget deluxe at least speed wise) and if the people have high bandwidth you will snatch the sucker down faster than you ever have. This is a must for large files or when your getting a file in the tenths of kb's. I used it for a music video from a person that was coughing it up at only .12kbs and I got it through internet download manager at an average of 90kbs.

That's hella interesting because I just went to the above address and the site was online and datreader could be found in his kazaa tools made by me section. You can either try putting "kazaasearch datreader" in a google search or I'll tell you the supernode i'm on and you can get it directly from me if you use kazupernodes by connecting to my node.

You should right click on the highlighted links and copy shortcut and input that into internet download manager or regetdeluxe. Once the person has an open slot your in and getting it at the best speed. The ones that aren't highted are the ones where the user is offline though some of the highlighted ones belong to people offline. If you just click on it though reget or whatever download manager you use will pop up and start downloading it.

just bought a new 180gb IBM gxp tonight. Going in next week. Rejoice people, more room for me, and more stuff to share.

BTW... talk quailty... virtually every major game in the past 8 months from most of the release groups. 5 of the current top 10 movies at the theater. Virtually ever system utillity, app, etc u can think of. More music then you can shake a stick at. Every single sopranos episode, half of all the south park episodes.

I think that qualifies and helping out.

The largest sharing value I have ever seen was just over 2Tb. This was on DC. I don't know if it was true or a con.

However some of the hubs there won't even let you in if you have less than 100Gb shared. I have been on hubs where loads of people shared between 100Gb and 400GB. With a total shared files, on that hub of 20Tb.

I wouldn't discount 500Gb that readily. I'm not saying it's true in this case. Just that it's not impossible.

I am currently sharing 520 files. 322 mp3 files, 13 softwares, 15 movies and some 4 files which i have no clue on what they are. Good that my computer came a 80 gig hard drive...but I want to add a 200gig hd and another 200gig. ;)
You are sharing 4 files and you don't know what they are. Is that entirely wise.

15,387 is what it says on my screen right now.I hooked up a dedicated removable 60g HD just for kazaa downloads mostly software leaning towards graphics and 3D CG progs.
Holy Crap dude you rock B)

WHOA!!!! They Live?! That is an excellent movie! I didn't think anybody was sharing movies that are that old. Keep it up someone needs to provide old movies; most people are just sharing new ones. [/b][/quote]
Hey dave would you believe the guy I got it off was sharinbg Logan's Run which I downloaded off him too? If you look hard enough and go through peoples shared folders with these films you can find great sci fi like "They Live".

I only share about 200-400 files at a time.
I've found that if I do find all files on a single user who's sharing more than about 1,000 files it OFTEN causes Kazaa to freeze completely for a few seconds, sometimes causes my bandwidth drop to 0, and even occassionally crashes the computer entirely. :(

If you're going to share a HUGE number of files, having the no.files list reg entry enabled is almost a must so you won't be inadvertently crashing those trying to search your files...

I can't believe you are giving people a hard time for sharing a lot of files and allowing others to chose from them.

If the price is that it slows things down for a couple of seconds, then I think that is a small price to pay for people sharing a lot. You are asking them to hide their files from potential downloaders, because sometimes it slows you down for a wee while.

Here's a better solution. Why don't you not select the find more from user option and leave other people to decide what works for them. It might be inconvenient for you but some of us like it, on the basis that if someone is downloading from me we may have similar tastes.

It might be inconvenient for you but some of us like it, on the basis that if someone is downloading from me we may have similar tastes.I don't give them a hard time, if a search crashes my computer I *CAN'T* message them. Also these problems can (but seldom does) crash the REMOTE computer as well... and if they're not at their computer at the time, it may stay crashed for hours. Many posters are having trouble with Kazaa due to sharing lots of files. Often their Kazaa uses 100% cpu all the time.

What happens when a find files is done is basically the remote computer stops almost everything and passes a file list. Due to a serious Kazaa (lite and reg) bug, it also glitches up the searcher's computer as well, so if the search goes sour, it's likely to cause Kazaa's GUI to quit refreshing and just turn into a blank window. If you're sharing 1,000 files -- that's probably 100KB of info to send for every find files request. 9 such searches in a minute is more than MOST broadband connections can handle -- and that's even if ALL their bandwidth is used for that task. :(

Chances are, the more you're trying to download and the more you're sharing, the more often you get find files done to you -- just due to the numbers of connections that are made in your searches and other's searches/downloads from you.

The main thing I'm suggesting is just to remove stuff like thumbs.db, *.kpl files, regular Kazaa installers (they're full of trojans anyhow :P), and any DLL files that might be shared. Basically just the files nobody wants.

I can sift through 1,000 files shared by 1 person pretty fast -- but when numbers get much greater than that, coupled with files of series stored in different formats which might have random 1st letters (so you can't sort them by name, type, or size), misnamed and junk files -- finding anything gets REALLY hard for anyone. So even when I find someone with similar tastes, it gets VERY hard to find 1 or a handful of rare files if they're sharing 5,000 files or more. :(

I only have a dial up connection so I don't share big files but I have found that cd sleeves are popular so I share all that I download. I would ask people to scan their cd covers and make them available as I have found that the pc doesn't work to well after visiting cover sites. Those sites have a lot of shit that can take time to get rid of again. I hope to get broadband soon and then I shall bare all.

970+ files most of them are DVD rips or screeners. 2 hard drives totaling 240 Gb's internal and 1 external HD totaling 40 Gb's. I do share some music and some other things like photos, those totaling 6,000 files, however not always, it seems that when they are all shared everyone thinks I do not share, too many files can cause people to be unable to view your shared folder and this I have found to lead to very slow downloads, people will boot you, even though you are sharing, they can't seem to see it. So If I am trying to download some files I unshare the pic's and some music.
