for advanced users (or people with too much time on their hands)
set up a small webserver on your PC like abyss (http://www.aprelium.com/)
and edit your HOSTS file to redirect desktop.kazaa.com to 127.0.0.1
127.0.0.1 desktop.kazaa.com
to load a website copy the text below
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"><html><head><title>K-Lite260</title><meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"></head><body onLoad="parent.location='http://www.google.com/'"></body></html>and open notepad and paste it and then save it as kmdstart.htm
then put kmdstart.htm in your webservers webpage folder in a subfolder named /US/
if your kazaa calls for kmdstart from a different subfolder then /us/kmdstart.htm you might need to change the name of the subfolder from US (look on kazaa's address bar it should show the path requested)
you can also set it to a different website by replacing http://www.google.com/ with a different URL in kmdstart.htm
to load a local html like the one in kazaa243 simply copy contents your kazaa WEB folder to the /US/ folder and copy start.htm to kmdstart.htm
#klchat's version or versions with dietk, use another method of dealing with the start page, and this method will conflict if you use those versions
EDIT: if you don't have the old klite web startpage or want an updated one here (http://myimages.fourvalve.com/supersonic/web.zip) is a nice one.
to change the start page in overnet/edonkey2000, instead of saving the above as /us/kmdstart.htm, save it as /ver/ver.php in your webservers folder
and add
127.0.0.1 home.edonkey2000.com
127.0.0.1 home.overnet.com to your HOSTS file
