That would definitely be:

The Lion King with Finding Nemo close behind. B) :)

Nah, that would be Princess Mononoke (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0119698/), and Fritz The Cat (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0068612/) http://www.mcbriens.net/liam/img/smilies/tongue.gif

I agree that the Lion King was one of the greats, but If I had to choose, excluding non-american animation, I would definitely say Toy Story 1 &2. I cant say which is better, since they are both such great films.

Only looking at graphics I say "Final fantasy:The Spirits Whitin" is the best.
Not the storyline though because it sucked.

TRAILER (http://www.apple.com/trailers/columbia/final_fantasy/)

The graphics in this movie are awesome :01:
Can't wait for PS3 to be released.
Gaming with graphics like that will be possible from then on!
(but that's for another section on this board :P )

For me It has to be TOY STORY II,

closely followed by MONSTERS INC. which I have to say has an excellent story,
and is underrated by most people!

I wasn't that crazy about Finding Nemo either. The best parts were Dory and the stingray teacher. But overall I didn't think it was as good as Toy Story 2. That one had a lot of jokes and references that adults could appreciate as well as kids. I also like Fantasia 2000, for personal reasons.

Best animated movies of all time are

Vampire Hunter D
Metropolis
Robin Hood
Transformers The Movie
Spring and Caos
The Fox and The Hound
The Hobbit
Felix The Cat
Project A-Ko
Toy Story
Fritz The Cat

And these last two I added in here, because puppetry and stop motion are types of animation too.

The Nightmare before Christmas
The Dark Crystal

The best looking animated movie of all time is probably Final Fantasy.

The funniest animated movie i've seen is Fritz the Cat.

I though Antz was a riot.

FINDING NEMO (DVD)

Ok! I can understand the critics and your contentions about this film. That's great! But allow me my opinion also.

Now, realize that I'm a little too old to be watching "cartoons", but after reading many reviews when "Finding Nemo" first came out, talking about the technical challenges that Disney/Pixar had to overcome to present realistic underwater sequences that had never before been accomplished, satisfying demanding viewers like myself who had grown used to quantum leap advances in cinematography and animation, I just had to check it out (I didn't get to see it in a theater).

Getting back from my Video outlet, I popped in the DVD and when this movie came up on my big-screen, I found it captivating from the start. The use of color, form and movement made the film "come alive" even apart from its simple story. There are jokes and double entendres we get that the kids would not. Anyone familiar with Albert Brooks' neuroses would find additional fun in following along with his character "Marlin".

Anyway, I watched it a couple of times....if for no other reason, then just for the way it painted an enormous canvas and filled my living room with creatures and sounds having a hypnotic beauty I haven't seen in quite some time in any animated film. (The bonus feature of being able to turn my tv into a virtual aquarium added even more to my enjoyment).

I will not go so far as to classify it, as the thread title suggests "Best animated film of all time". I'll concede that, but I sure enjoyed the visual presentation of Finding Nemo and would rate it fairly high up on the totem pole for technical achievment in an animated feature.

I was waiting for someone to mention Beauty and the Beast. After all, it was the first animated movie to be nominated for a best picture Oscar. Okay, I'll admit it - I enjoy watching that one with my kids. :)

Are you joking, I love anime and I hate that movie, Blood is a terrible movie, worst anime I've ever seen. The artwork was nice, but the storyline was crap. It just started and then ended. You really didn't know what was going on.
IF the story would have been better, I might give it an average score but as is, It was just a waste of my time and money.

Yeah, MANGA rules, though, i think that akira, masterpiece that it is, and metropolis, anime remake, which is also amazing are eclipsed by my vote for the best animated film/movie/series which goes to,,,, GHOST IN THE SHELL.
The opening credits alone are out of this world.
The use of computer and cell animation works seemlessly, blah, blah balh, on, and on, and , oh bollox! G.I.T.S. for President! Vote G.I.T.S.!
P.S. the Major has a nice line in underwear.
