View Full Version : A Question For The Guys

Do any of the men here use electric shavers? If so what do you think of them? Reason I’m asking is because I have always used a regular razor and I’m thinking of making the switch. Shaving to me is a huge pain in the ass and I hate doing it, which is crazy because I couldn’t wait until I was old enough to grow a beard and now I can’t stand it

Remington has a new Titanium shaver that is “supposed” to be better that anything out there. Does anyone have one of these new Titanium shavers by chance, and if so how do you like it?

I am thinking of buying this model (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000CBJ5M/qid=1073689824/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-5523972-7619248?v=glance&s=kitchen)

Use the Philishave 'Cool Shave' for every day shaving. But I wet shave if going somewhere special. :)

Yeah i hate shaving.

I tried an electric shaver and i didnt like it. It made my skin feel funny.

Maybe it was a shitty shaver.

Don't want to go near electric as they don't hit it as fine...

It's all about the Mach 3 Turbo ;) Whatever you do, don't go near the Quattro. That is the worst razor I've ever used.

i tried electric shaving but didn't like it, didn't give a very close shave for me

i prefer wet shaving and haven;t cut myself in a long time. i'm a big boy now, i can even go to the toilet myself :)

I have been using the mach three for quite a while now and it gives a very close shave. I just hate shaving and I thought that an electric would be faster and more convenient.

OMG!!!

I once had the most shitty shavers and they were horrid :fear:

They rip up your face and you cant wet your skin because it will burn.

I only buy the high quality shit for my face now B)

when it comes to an eletric shaver you cannot go to cheap and buy a crappy one cause it will screw u up. It is a good investment to buy a nice one that is going to be reliable and wont tear your face up

That's exactly what the Quattro done to me

I shaved as usual, but they have these 'guards' made of metal covering the four blades and it obviously traps the hair, and only some will come out when rinsed under the tap. When you go to shave again, it's all uneven so you have to literally go over it like 500 times. My face looked liked it had been dragged along the street by a car. Never again.

The reviews below don't seem too promising...

2 weeks later... and the cuts have finally healed. The 9500 is by far the worst razor I have ever used. It was extremely harsh and unpleasant. Felt like I had dull rusted blades chopping away at my face. Under my nose, chin, neck area was a total mess. Swollen red bumps, little cuts everywhere.

BigBank_Hank

That kind of scared me. But if you continue to read on there are two good reviews. Who are you supposed to believe?

My thought exactly. I've tried several different electric ones over the years, but I never felt like they got it all off. But I always cut myself with regular razors, until I got the Mach 3. Been using it for like two or three years and never cut myself once! Always close and smooth, too.

Gotta go with samurai on this one, you can't beat a wet shave with the mach 3 for a fine shave...it just a shame the blades are so damn expensive.

It seems to be a matter of preference...

But I don't want to spend $150 just to see if I would like electric and then discover that I hate them...

You should try somerset shaving oil, all you do is put three drops on you hands and rub it in. Less mess and you can see exactly what you are doing.

I wonder what would have happened when I had started a topic about ladies shavings...

Anyway I prefer wet shaving, Ive had some ladyshavers that pulled out the hairs, very painful [okay okay, maybe I should have changed batteries earlier]

Hello!

It is not a matter of which one to go by you need both of them!

The Philips shavers are really good!. Thats what I use

they cut deep enough so that you willl feel smooth for about 12 hours.

But if you want the best posible result like for a date with a women or when going out partying and you wanna look your very best then you should use tha Mach 3 shaver for those occations. but for everyday use a Philips electric shaver is good enough and I promisse you it goes alot faster then shaving manual!. And you dont have to replace the blade all the time!. you only have to empty it about every 3 shaves and also clean the blades by removing them once every 2 months or so!( how to do that is described in the manual).

I have always used a razor similar to this:

they take simple double-edge razor blades. about $1.50 for 10 of em.
fuck all that other shit.

Oh my I don't know how the hell you can stand it. I tried to let my beard grow in for about a week and I couldn't stand it anymore last night and shaved it off. I must have looked like gorilla always scratching my face, I just couldn't stand it anymore.
