same as a p4, sometimes the p4 beats it. lol. intel is better, raw performance wise. ;) ;)

I saw this a few days ago, the Athlon 64 FX-51 tops this, but not by much.

I thought the 3200XP ran at 2.2Ghz. This 3400XP is running at 2.2Ghz? How is that any faster? Or does the Athlon 64 3200 just run at 2Ghz?

I think the 64 is going to be the wave of the future.. Intel needs to get off its ass or get left behind....

And think if you can oc a 3200 or 3400 like you can a 2500 barton...

Hey Big I think I found your answer Here (http://www.nordichardware.com/reviews/cpu/2004/Athlon64_2.2GHz/index.php?ez=2)...

wasn't the 3.2 in the tests a regular 3.2? well, the only reason intel's waiting is becuz there's not many software that can run on a 64 bit core. and they want to watch amd stumble as they release a very early edition of a 64 bit cpu, and have most of the software not run on it. lol. then intel brings out the big guns and releases a monster cpu that will crush all cpus!

I agree with this statement. Amd has some probs with there 64bits and are gona make new sockets I hear....Intel should just wait untill 64bit will actually have software...but untill then perfect the chip

I read that the new intel chip is overdue on release because of heat issues...
Here (http://www.nordichardware.com/reviews/cpu/2004/Athlon64_2.2GHz/index.php?ez=10) is a 3400 2.2 ocd to 2.42 or arround 3600 beating even the EE and still over 500.00 usd cheaper.. Enough to buy that 9800xt card.

Looks like 64 bit is comming for sure...
